2021-05-29, Game 1: Brewers (Peralta) at Nationals (Corbin) [Brewers win, 4-1 -- Garcia hits his team leading 9th HR of the season]

so if Freddy finishes it out, does he get credit for a CG? I know Bumgarner didn't get an "official" no hitter. Wondering how these work, for statistics.

I just asked that question on the Brewers FB post about Freddy throwing a complete game and they replied that it counts as an official complete game. Seems kind of weird that complete games count but not no hitters. Maybe because complete games aren’t that prestigious.

Just what the doctor ordered for Game 1. Get an early lead and Freddy protects it with a minimum of drama. Now go into Game 2 with a fresh bullpen and try to get some runs off Lester.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Man Freddy is really good. Only thing I'm concerned about is how many innings he can go this season.

Avi is up to 9 HRs and close to an .800 OPS. This is the Garcia we thought we were getting last year.

Yup, and I hope this is the Garcia we get the rest of the year. Imagine adding his numbers to a healthy normal Yelich, Hiura, and Narvaez?

Should be interesting to keep an eye on for sure.

His professional high is 141 back in 2018 & he's currently on pace for about 170 IP this year.

Normally that wouldn't be too concerning of a jump, but after only throwing 29 IP last year they'll probably proceed with (& err on the side of) caution as the summer progresses.
