The Carolina game has been postponed due to rain. Will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow.

Green Homers Twice, 11th Straight Win for Sounds

Zach Green has hit five home runs in his last five games

Pre-Game Media Notes

Ashby has struggled a bit this spring but maybe this outing with a season-high nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of work signals better things to come. Zach Green has 5 home runs and 10 RBI in his last five games.

Rattlers beat Cedar Rapids 8-1

A team no no for the T-rats in game one of their doubleheader! The Cedar Rapids Kernels (9-13) took advantage of two walks and some soft contact to score a run in the bottom of the fourth inning without a hit. The no-hitter was the first by the Timber Rattlers since May 4, 2012 when Chad Thompson and Mark Williams combined on a nine-inning no-hitter at Clinton.

Bennett and Turang Shine in 8-3 Shuckers Win

Turang and Fry Each Hit Three-Run Bombs in Victory

Former first-round pick Brice Turang had a heckuva night at the plate with a single, a double, and a home run. Brice now has a modest four game hitting streak raising his batting average from .227 to .263 in the process. LHP Nick Bennett was outstanding on the bump in his AA debut going 6 innings with 7Ks and 0 BBs.

Video of Turang's round tripper (as an aside, I love the lighting in some of these minor league parks. It's like the cinematographer from The Natural consulted)

Rattlers Win Game Two 6-1 to Sweep Twinbill from Kernels

Wisconsin pitchers carry a no-no into the sixth inning of the nightcap

Wow, so close to a double no-no for the T-Rats. A broken-bat blooper was the best Cedar Rapids could muster after 16-1/3 innings without a hit (the Wisconsin pitching staff had held the Kernels hitless since the sixth inning of Friday night's game). The T-Rats have won four in a row.

Local story on Korry Howell who is off to a scorching start for the T-Rats this season:
