Not a good half inning in the field for the Sounds.

Sounds entered bottom of 3rd leading 7-0. Exit half inning trailing 9-7

3 Sounds pitchers allowed 9 runs on 3 hits & 6 walks. 2 Errors didn't help.

Its now 9-7 in the bottom of the 4th inning

Barring the Sounds forgetting how to pitch again, this game is over.

6 homers for the Sounds tonight. Now leads 13-9 in the bottom of the 9th.

So maybe Hernan Perez isn't off to Olympic qualifying after all...

26-year-old RH Reliever Jake Cousins (27 in July) is fast-tracking to the big league bullpen. Remember, he was a big league camp invitee this spring.

Yeah, #FreeZachGreen is sure to be a thing.

This was one wild game.

Speaking of wild games...or at least late.

RH starter Noah Zavolas was pitching on normal four days rest and only faced eight batters. The reason? Check out the rain delay notation in the box score.

I wondered why catcher Payton Henry was removed just after the big 9th inning Pensacola grand slam.

For MiLB subscribers, go to the 04:54:50 hour/minute mark. Henry took a vicious foul tip to his right shoulder, he looked to be in a lot of pain. Hoping for the best there.

He was replaced by Brent Diaz, and David Fry is also catcher-capable, and has started two games behind the dish this season.

Scoreless through seven, so yes, this is wild game #3 of the night.

The Timber Rattlers struck out 20 times and won by four. There was one sombrero in the mix.

After missing a brief time, scorching hot OF Je'Von Ward (game logs: eight-game hitting steak) has been doing a lot of DH'ing this week, so looks like some cautiousness going on there.

Such an odd Timber Rattler debut for RH reliever Evan Reifert, so successful previously (walked all three men he faced here).

Huge strand of three runners and a deserved victory for University of Iowa product Brady Schanuel - game played in Cedar Rapids, which is in, yeah, you got it.

I've always felt that if you get youngsters involved in some basic sports league game tracking, you can really impress upon them lessons in U.S. geography.

Timber Rattlers play a twi-night doubleheader Saturday starting at 5:05 Central, but it's actually Carolina kicking things off at 4:00 Central, as you maneuver around hopeful big league baseball in the nation's capital.

You'll notice I've pre-staged Saturday's and Sunday's Link Report, as our frequent contributor and Brewerfan moderator extraordinaire Homer will kindly fill in for me this holiday weekend.

Going to be very soggy and near record-cold, but I am looking forward to treating the Mrs. to a bed-and-breakfast getaway in the hills of western Mass.

I deflect any thanks I may occasionally receive for my Link Report efforts. Wifey gets all the credit for indulging me my hobby/obsession of over 20 years now (Link Report, not marriage, that's at 33+). It helps that she's a wonderful dedicated nurse who I often tuck in early, allowing for my baseball indulgence. Plus, as she notes, it's a rather inexpensive hobby :laughing .

So thank you, Mrs. Haas!

And yes, I will occasionally be putting out a bat signal for assistance, so thanks to Homer, and others who will be called upon at points this summer.
