Sounds Extend Winning Streak to Eight Games

Offense Erupts Early and Pitching Holds Late in 6-5 Win

***

Catcher Mario Feliciano has been absent the last four games. Christian Kelley is the other catcher on the roster, he last played on the 19th. It's been the Luke Maile show.

Isn't the Covid precaution rule that when MLB teams are on the road (Brewers obviously at home this week), that their taxi squad has to include at least one catcher? Very confused by that whole mostly invisible process. Just post the daily taxi squad already.

Zach Green just turned 27 in March. He may just keep it up enough so that the #FreeZachGreen calls get answered sooner rather than later.

The Sounds were held hitless over the final five innings. The early damage proved huge.

Wild Ninth Inning Ends With 5-4 Wahoos Win Over Shuckers

Small Ties Career High With Eight Strikeouts in Outing

Light coverage night here for a Biloxi home game.

Six Shuckers fanned at least twice, but we could harp about that throughout all of MiLB and MLB these days.

Second baseman Tyler Friis stole four bases in this game. His career season high is nine in 63 games in 2019.

Shuckers roster currently sporting a two-man bench. Wednesday evening it was catcher Brent Diaz and OF Mitch Longo, Olympic qualifying a factor there. With no pitchers batting at AA this year, that helps.

Rattlers Late Breakthrough Beats Kernels 5-0

Four-run eighth breaks scoreless tie as Wisconsin wins at Cedar Rapids

First of all, kudos on the shutout win and late offense.

Korry Howell gets some defensive praise from the Kernels' manager here.

Rattlers fan 15 times - they talk about the entertainment value at the big league level, but that carries throughout the industry. Sure, bring the young ones out to the ballpark at the minor league level for a nice family day, but how many balls are in play to keep them entertained about what's happening on the field?

Grumpy old Link Reporter will head back in from off his porch -- just worried about the sport. This won't be a recurring sermon throughout the season, but you'll see it in the numbers.

Daniel Castillo has no intention of going back to the Arizona Complex, from the looks of it :)

The age cascade probably doesn't mean much, but it encourages me to temper expectations for our youngest players, none of whom appear overwhelmed for their level:

Born 2001 - Low-A Carolina - Juan Geraldo, Darrien Miller, Daniel Castillo

Born 2000 - High-A Wisconsin - Carlos Rodriguez, Justin Jarvis

Born 1999 - Double A Biloxi - Brice Turang

Born 1998 - Triple A Nashville - Mario Feliciano, Aaron Ashby

Born 1997 - MLB Milwaukee - Luis Urias
