New Rocky Mountain Vibes win season opener, 2-0 over Grand Junction Rockies

 

No longer Brewer-related, but 3,454 fans enjoyed themselves. Baseball! Tough to quite comprehend what's going on with the Mexican League's farmclub connection, though. Our best to the folks in Colorado Springs.

All day games Sunday on the farm, all getaway days before Monday's off day. It's the new routine, and it's awesome.

I wasn’t aware that the Rocky Mountain Vibes had been converted to a minor league affiliate of the Mexican League’s Monclova Acereros, but I will say that the Monclova roster is pure gold:

 

- ex-Brewers K-Rod, Chris Carter, Eric Young Jr., Zack Segovia, Jon Perrin, Conor Harber

- K-Rod (now 39) is 8 years younger than one of his teammates, Ruben Rivera (47), who’s probably best known for a mis-deed from 19 years ago

If he keeps this up, I think a quick promotion to AA will be in order by the end of June. He is 22 already. Last year was really unfortunate for these young guys.
