Perfect 1st inning, just 11 pitches, yet RH starter Luis Contreras departs. LHP Cody Beckman came up big.

Tristen Lutz was due for a quiet night, but the dreaded Golden Sombrero (0-for-4, four K's) isn't what we had in mind. Every other Shucker K'd once, Luis Castro three times.

Pre-Game Media Notes

Early Delmarva Runs Too Much in 12-8 Loss

Joe Gray Jr. and Alex Hall both homered in Carolina’s 12-8 loss in Delmarva

Soon-to-be 21-year-old RHP Jhoan Cruz is going to have to work a bit to drop that ERA after this one.

I wasn’t aware that the Rocky Mountain Vibes had been converted to a minor league affiliate of the Mexican League’s Monclova Acereros, but I will say that the Monclova roster is pure gold:

- ex-Brewers K-Rod, Chris Carter, Eric Young Jr., Zack Segovia, Jon Perrin, Conor Harber

- K-Rod (now 39) is 8 years younger than one of his teammates, Ruben Rivera (47), who’s probably best known for a mis-deed from 19 years ago

So who had Howell as the potential HR champ for the organization?

If he keeps this up, I think a quick promotion to AA will be in order by the end of June. He is 22 already. Last year was really unfortunate for these young guys.
