I know Hader is still great, but tell me after today that this bullpen is really good.

It is. All this shows is the guys are human. They are not going to be wonderful every day. Thankfully today the offense came thru.

I’m not sure what I’ll do the next time someone says this team is built on pitching and defense.

probably just look at the stats and realize it's pretty much true...

I'm going to force myself not to tune in today.

So, either Freddy will throw a no-hitter, or the offense will explode for 5+ runs.

Or, Freddy throws a no-hitter for 9 innings, and gets a no decision because we don't score any runs for him.

Why do I get the feeling turborickey tuned in around the 7th inning.

I am not one that puts too much stock in divine intervention, but if any of the offense can indeed be attributed to your absence from following today, then my sincere thanks for taking one for the team!

I tuned in for the bottom of the 9th.

Maybe I should stop watching all together... lol

How about that play by Reyes on the bunt? That was maybe the key play of the game as it turned out.

Agreed. At the time it was a little overshadowed by the fact the rest of the defense was completely melting down around him, but that Reyes play was spectacular. I don’t think the Brewers have another player on the 40-man roster that would’ve made that play at 3B.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Imagine if that throw would have went down the right field line.

Should definitely be a sportscenter. highlight.

For you youngins it would have been on "This Week in Baseball" back in the day.

Hard to believe how much different the game looked back then.

I started following the Brewers when I skipped a day of my senior year in high school to watch them lose 12-0 to the Angels on Opening Day 1970. I think I’ve earned the right to be a cynic.

Maybe I should have put my comment about the Brewers being built on pitching and defense in blue. I didn’t expect people to take it that seriously. But, the next time I hear that this year’s team is built on pitching and defense, I’ll just think that anyone at today’s game who would never guess that unless they left after the 6th inning.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

There is always going to be outlier games that buck the trend. It's a cliche, but that's baseball.

Feyereisen wasn't going to go the whole year and not give up any runs. He had a bad outing and the defense played uncharacteristically bad. It happens. Luckily the offense showed up today and they didn't waste another brilliant outing by Freddy. Nothing to be super negative about. They won on a day when the bullpen and defense both crapped the bed.

They won and they scored 10 runs.... glad to have more hope in the offense.

The only real negative I came away from the game is a real reluctance to assume anything hit to Urias is a sure out. I have been burned in that thinking too often.

It really is amazing this team is 21-20. Great pitching keeps you in games (and the offense can very rarely bail you out).

Coming in to the season, I though the Crew needed to hang in there through a tough first 50 games and then rack up wins from late May through the AS break. Lately, I'm thinking it's going to be tough to get a big streak given the big gap between BP tiers, but maybe Yelich getting healthy can help make up for that a bit.

I have zero confidence in Suter anytime he enters a game. I'm not saying he's bad but with his mediocre stuff I'm frankly amazed he puts up as good of numbers as he does.

It doesn't seem like this is the first time this year he came in and gave up a devastating HR allowing all the baserunners to score. Maybe that isn't the time to put him in, better to have him start the inning.

In Suter’s defense, the first two hitters he faced hit weak grounders that easily could have (should have) produced the two outs to end the inning. Facing hitters like Freeman with the bases loaded is asking for trouble, and the Brewers got it.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
