2021-05-15: Braves (Anderson) at Brewers (Anderson) [Brewers lose, 5-1 -- Crew drops to .500 on the season]

Eye Black
Remember at the end of April how giddy we were that we were in 1st despite the injuries and the tough schedule and the sky was the limit and all that? That seems like forever ago.

I know they won't be this bad all season, but it's hard to see when they're actually going to start turning this around.

At least Yelich is striking out at Nashville.

They actually might be this bad all season if Counsell is serious about going to a 6 man rotation during stretches without off days.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Who wants to take bets on whether the game is actually over? Brewers scoring 3 against Ian Anderson is 99% improbable.

Give me about 3 hours to mull it over.

Deal!! Feel like I got a winner regardless :laughing

So was the deal that we score 3 or that we score 3 and that would be all we need for a win?

I'm going, so this is a win. They pretty much always win when I go for whatever reason, in the last 15 years anyway.

I'm afraid your streak is no match for how bad this team is right now.

So I thought Brett Anderson was supposed to be a groundball pitcher. I've got 6 fly balls to 3 ground balls. Three of the fly balls have been hits (1 HR).

I think we cannot score three runs so that was the bet.

The odds are in your favor.

Brett Anderson is a batting practice pitcher ... too easy to hit. He needs to be demoted or cut. He just is not even mediocre.

He might be a great guy, but for the sake of the team -- get rid of him.

Look. I get that hitters have to hit. But they apparently have no game plan. That’s on Haines. At this point, just bring Hiura back up and let him struggle. What’s the difference

I agree. It’s one thing of the batters don’t produce, but they never make any adjustments to their approach at the plate. I know analytics says to not play small ball but instead swing away, but it obviously isn’t working (and didn’t in 2020 either). At what point are they going to realize this and change their approach. I’m afraid never.

So on the one hand it’s 4-0, and the odds of the Brewers coming back to win are low. On the other hand it could easily be a much larger deficit for the Brewers right now.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

And we might see a no no.
