2021-05-13: Cardinals (Flaherty) at Brewers (Burnes) [Brewers lose, 2-0 -- Burnes sets strikeout record and finally issues his first walk; Good pitching and defense goes for naught]

Rasmussen makes no sense to me here. Heart of the order, go with JP.

JP is the 7th inning guy. Counsell is nothing if not consistent, for better or worse.

Having a reliever pigeonholed to an inning with the possible exception of the 9th is just so dumb.

That's not directed at you, and I still like and appreciate Counsell, and I'm not saying Rasmussen was a bad move here. But I've been so disappointed with CCs evolution as a bullpen manager.

Not sure I agree. I feel like he's done a great job over the years with the pen.

This ump's zone is not as forgiving as the clown last night.

Announcer, "Here is a difference between the NL and AL. Here you get to pitch to the pitcher to get out of....oh, nevermind, the catcher is up.'

I mean come on man, at least look at the line-up card. It is the 6th inning now.

I have a feeling Counsell is looking at Feyerheusen as the closer today. Obviously no Hader, and Williams has appeared two days in a row. Even though he only faced one batter last night he had to go through the whole process of getting ready to enter.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I did too up until the last 150 games or so.

I still think he has been above average. Maybe not as brilliant as 2018...but his pen, especially by September was like a cheatcode that year.

I think he would consider throwing Williams in a tie or lead situation. Probably not burning him during a potential loss though.

This is tack on inning for the Cards. Score another run and it could be game over.

Starting more like a pile on inning.

Or not ...

Started like one. Fortunately didn’t end like one.
