2021-05-11: Cardinals (Kim) at Brewers (Peralta) [Brewers lose, 6-1 in 11 innings -- Peralta allows 1 hit and records 8 strikeouts over 7.0 IP]

Eye Black
Just another example of the pattern that fits the vast majority of the games this season. With near perfect pitching, the Brewers have a chance to win, but too often even that isn’t good enough.

It really hurts to burn up the heart of the bullpen in a loss.

one flaw with your statement is that they HAVE WON the majority of their games

I don’t see that as a flaw because when the Brewers were 17-10 they were getting near perfect pitching in a high percentage of games and they were winning most of them. The last 10 games they have had near perfect pitching in some games, but have lost a few of them, and had less than perfect pitching several times and lost all of them.

The Brewers aren’t winning many games in which they give up more than 2 runs in 9 innings.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I just don’t see how Yelich fixes this at this point. How long can we say that it is still early in the season and things will average out? We have AAAA players playing regularly. We are lucky to be over .500.

Yeah, Yelich looks exactly like the guy from 2020. I know, small sample. Blah, blah, blah.

I mean, yeah, the power hasn't been there yet, but Yelich is hitting .350 this year in the games he's played. With a team struggling to get runners on base, I'd take that.

He has a .571 BABIP (not happening over a full season, he'd be lucky to keep it at .400) and striking out over 30% of the time just like last season. I stand by my statement.

That's fine. I mean, he's had 34 ABs this year, but that's certainly enough to determine that the Yelich we saw in 2020 is who he really is.

I have Peralta on a few fantasy teams.

If I start him, he will get shelled.

If I sit him, he'll go 6 innings, 2 hits 1 run, 9 K's.

I'll take one for the team and bench him today.

You are welcome.

Too bad the end result wasn't better, but I did my part.

lol
