2021-05-11: Cardinals (Kim) at Brewers (Peralta) [Brewers lose, 6-1 in 11 innings -- Peralta allows 1 hit and records 8 strikeouts over 7.0 IP]

Eye Black
They have 6 batters hitting less than .240 over the last 15 games and three of those six are even below .200. Most of these numbers will normalize; but will they be able to hang around long enough where it will matter

Am I crazy for being okay with having a slightly poorer record but having an offense that doesn't completely suck? A pitching duel every once in a while is fine but this is hard to watch.

Just another example of the pattern that fits the vast majority of the games this season. With near perfect pitching, the Brewers have a chance to win, but too often even that isn’t good enough.

It really hurts to burn up the heart of the bullpen in a loss.

one flaw with your statement is that they HAVE WON the majority of their games

All I care about is the record regardless of how we get there. However, an 88 win pace is not sustainable with an offense that is this bad.

Kudos to you for enjoying this brand of baseball.

I have no real expectations for this team at the end of the season. I fully expect the Cardinals to go on some magical championship run while we watch highlights of a no-hitter from 32 years ago during rain delays. That seems to be our destiny.

I am here

We have nobody in the minors who is even remotely close to coming up and helping this offense makes this even more depressing.

[sarcasm]Jace Peterson and Derek Fisher are on rehab assignments![/sarcasm]

Honestly beyond hoping Yelich makes it back and Hiura figures it out there is not much else we can do. Like you said there is not help on the way. It's not a great situation.

Hot hitting Billy Mckinney now at 207. This team has to decide what they are going to do right now. The mirage of Yelich being out does not hold water at all especially since nobody is ever on base. Where is Stearns?? Do something man.

I just don’t see how Yelich fixes this at this point. How long can we say that it is still early in the season and things will average out? We have AAAA players playing regularly. We are lucky to be over .500.

Yeah, Yelich looks exactly like the guy from 2020. I know, small sample. Blah, blah, blah.

At a certain point just fire the hitting coach and seek a new voice. Bring back Molitor. Yount? Braun? Fielder I don't care who but you just can't let the current leadership off the hook. These hitters are not getting better and the most talented hitter they have brought to the show of late is back in the minors because he can no longer hit. What is happening here?
