Vogelbach costs another run , and maybe more, because he can’t slide.

We've seen this before with the slide and the foot up

Wasted men on base

I really don't see how you can overturn that call though. With the standards MLB have had regarding clear cut evidence I was shocked on that one. Could be huge call, would be 5-2 with two runners on.

That said, dude put your foot down when you slide.

The MLB replay system continues to lack transparency and be an overall be a complete joke. I’d love to see what definitive angle they had to overturn that call because it certainly wasn’t one they showed on the broadcast.

Thought the same. It looked like he got tagged while the foot was over the plate. I think he was probably out, but there is just no consistency at all.

That’s a much more polite way of putting it than what bounced around my mind. The same replay that couldn’t “definitively” overturn Wong being called out on a stolen base a few days ago “definitively” overturns this call. Only a ground level camera could actually supply that, which wasn’t present. It’s past a complete joke now.

I don’t get that review at all…it appears his foot is touching the plate when he’s tagged. I know that in Counsell’s career it appears we are terrible at reviews. When it’s called our way and seems obvious we were right, umps use some less than 100% criteria to overturn them. When it goes against us and is 100% obviously wrong, somehow the umps rule that there’s not enough evidence to overturn it. Every game it’s like this.

Couldn't agree more about replay. Not much faith in it right now. Literally can't predict the outcomes. Maybe they should just flip a coin, it seems more fair.

It's as if baseball isn't random enough. May as well make the replay system completely opaque.

Just don't review tag plays at this point. Foul balls, close plays at first, etc., but those are where replay is the worst. Just let it be bang-bamg on the field.

These three games have been extra frustrating because it doesn’t seem like the Phillies have pitched particularly well, yet they’ve led virtually the entire time.

Taylor needs to play more. I know everyone here has read that 10,000 times, but maybe CC will log in some time and read it for the first time :laughing

Now that Garcia is likely to be up this inning I hope they pull him for the for a double switch with the pitcher and leave Taylor to get another couple at bats tonight.

Yea, he should start vs all lefties and whenever someone needs a day off should go to him. And he should be doing all he can to learn 1B. McKinney has come back to reality, let's see how long Taylor can go before he does too.

If folks haven't noticed though Garcia has been perfectly fine of late, even good. Yet again an example of not freaking out over a short bad stint.

Man. Shaw smoked that. Pretty athletic from Romero.

Athletic play that may have cost two runs. Looked like Gregorius was right behind second base for a potential 6-3 double play.

Saw that on the replay. Would have been tough to get out of the way completely, but maybe a bit lucky there too, I guess.

Definitely. No knock on Romero’s play. Kept himself from being injured, also. But it’s just one of those baseball things with the outcome.
