Your 2021 Nashville Sounds

Mass Haas
Brewer Fanatic Staff

We will begin to see some formal minor league roster announcements soon. The formal announcement will come directly from the Sounds, not the Brewers. All four minor league affiliates will likely send out their press releases within an hour or so of each other once the Brewers have given them the official go-ahead to do so.

Opening Night is Tuesday 5/4!

Feel free to link to any formal notices you see here.

Often we learn via farmhand tweets, who has been assigned where, prior to the formal affiliate announcements. We'll link to any of those posts in this thread as they come out.

As you might know, we use the "Your 2021" threads to post and link to feature stories, including audio and video, that are outside the scope of game activity covered in the Daily Link Report.

These threads have become among the most popular for viewing here, and we look forward to kicking them off formally.

Please do not speculate on any player releases. Brewers Player Development or MiLB.com will update us formally.

There are a lot of moving parts with this roster right now, obviously, with all the injuries the Brewers have at the major league level. There is a need for guys to fill the innings at Nashville.

Payton Henry and Jose Sibrian listed for Nashville but no Feliciano? Hmm.

Feliciano is at the alternate site, that would probably be why he isn’t on the AAA roster.

Same reason Corey Ray isn’t listed etc.

Does this mean the alternate site is basically going to be another minor league and everyone else moves up a step?

I was under the assumption that the alternate sites were going to be shut down this week with the start of the minor league seasons. I do believe that teams will continue to have a taxi squad at their disposal, though, to guard against COVID outbreaks without players having to travel from AAA locales and having to go through testing protocol. I believe I overheard during the broadcast yesterday, though, that the plan was for Feliciano to begin the season in Biloxi. He may stick around on the taxi squad, though, until Pina is activated and Maile is optioned, and can take that taxi squad spot. Maile is the perfect type to keep around as a #3 catcher, as he has a good amount of MLB experience, is a good defender, and has that all-important option that enables them to shuttle him back and forth between the taxi squad and the MLB roster as needed.

Edit: They just released the Biloxi roster, and Feliciano isn't on it. Which likely means he'll be on the Nashville roster ... on on the taxi squad if those continue.

What would it take for Dahl to play himself onto the 2022 Brewer roster (especially if Avi leaves)...because he is starting to do it this year?

Lindblom ever going to see an MLB roster again...anywhere? He is pitching his way into a tryout for sure (maybe not in MKE)?

Nashville Sounds Hire Adam English as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer

https://www.milb.com/nashville/news/nashville-sounds-hire-adam-english-as-general-manager-and-chief-operating-office

A native of Lexington, Ky., English joins the Sounds after serving as the Vice President and General Manager for the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. English was with the Stripers since November of 2018.

English was previously with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats from 2013-18. Adam was with the Single-A Lexington Legends from 2010-13 as the Director of Ticket Sales and later the Assistant General Manager. He began his professional career in sports with Ripken Baseball in 2006.

I believe that he’s technically replacing Adam Nuse, who left the Sounds in March 2021 after 5 years as GM and COO to join the Tennessee Titans.

Every time I read the name for the Gwinnett Stripers I read it as Gwinnett Strippers. So I read this story as the Brewers signed a manager of strippers.
