Aguilar second half of 2018: .245/.324/.436/.760

Aguilar until he was traded in 2019: .225/.320/.374/.694

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Funny how pretty much everyone wanted to get rid of Aguilar at the time when his OPS floated around .700 (myself included as a disclaimer). If we did that with all our players from last year and likely this year we wouldn't have enough guys to field a team. Now I wish some guys would hit .700. Our 1B last year and this year have been so unbelievably bad its pretty sad even the Aguilar of then would be a vast improvement...let alone was he has done 2020/2021.

Unfortunate realities of a competing team. Just don't have space sometimes to hoard "figure it out" guys.

This game just has bad mojo all the way through, starting with Godley.

Ridiculous call costs the Brewers a run.

Passed ball.

Bad call changes complexion of Aguilar AB.

Aguilar pulls a pitch way high and away, and McKinney mistimes it at the wall.

Wong loses transfer on potential DP.

Brewers hitting into some deep flyouts.

And now ball pops out of Wong's glove on potential CS.

Bad bounces, bad execution, nad matchup.

Kind of amazing to still be sort of in it.

Yardley is the bullpen Matt Garza for me. Fine. Every roster has guys like that. But they are decidedly mediocre and absolutely no fun to watch.

Yardley needs DFA'd. Absolutely no upside. I'd rather see someone with upside like Weigel getting the innings.

Surprised Yardley wasn’t called for interference there. I didn’t think pitchers were allowed within 10 feet of a runner when throwing the ball underhand to first base. At least that’s what I learned an hour ago... Now I’m just confuzzled.

Hoping that is the last we ever see of Godley. Yuck.

Pretty sure Patrick Weigel could have accomplished that. Not real happy this move cost a potential future pen arm.

I wouldn't sweat Bickford. I liked him at one time, but I don't think they would have DFAed him for a guy like Godley if they thought he had any future value at all.

Based on his performance I would bet they feel he will pass through waivers anyways and stick within the system.

You're probably right. It's just a little confusing when the swap is for someone as uninspiring as Godley.

How are guys like Godley and Yardley employed on any 26 man roster, much less ours, when guys like Rick Porcello and Jeremy Jeffress are still available?

Even JJ himself admitted no team wants to touch him with a 10 foot pole. Probably a good reason for that even if he doesn't think so himself.

As far as Rick Procello, meh, can't say he is any flashier than the fodder we have sitting around as is.

When do we start beating the drum for Ashby??

Stearns did say in the first series of the season that we would see Ashby this season. I will say I’m a little surprised that not one of Weigel, Bettinger, or Lauer received the call today.
