Are the Reds looking to get out from under Moustakas' contract, and if so, would they be enticed by Avisail Garcia's shorter/cheaper contract? Worse player, but can cut bait after the season for $2M. Brewers' 3B woah solvdd.

Why on earth would the Reds even consider this?

I just don't think there's a ton of upside in Houser anymore. Just a guy you hope can go 5 or 6 and give up 3 or less most outings I guess.

#4/#5 starters with a 3.75 ERA are pretty valuable.

The last time I saw some numbers on what constitutes a league average #4/5 starter it was something around a 5.5 ERA. So if Houser is our #4/5 starter he would be considered an elite #4/5 starter if he put up an ERA of 3.75.

Houser is probably closer to your average #4/5 starter and that probably puts him at about 4.5-5.0 ERA.

No thanks I would rather see Counsell play 3B for the Brewers than have Moustakas again.

They’ve been trying to throw Urias outside just off the plate all night.

I think the scouting report is that he does not have much opposite field power.

And right on cue!

But yeah, I think you’re right in terms of what they were thinking.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

The "strikeout with a runner on third and less than 2 outs" routine is really getting old.

I'm a lot less aggravated with it when a guy is at least trying to put the ball in play and not sitting there guessing on a 2-2 count.

Shaw has been playing this game awhile. He should certainly be smarter than that, and it's happened a number of times this year.

Why's that?
