MLB Big Inning

JET15

Is anyone else getting into the MLB's version of the Red Zone, the Big Inning on MLB.TV?

On Crew off nights its kinda entertaining. The host isn't as good as the Red Zone's, but maybe that's just me. She's really laid back and doesn't generate much excitement. I guess the action speaks for itself and maybe that's the vibe the MLB is looking for.

I enjoy it because they do a pretty good job of letting the game broadcast takeover at the right times instead of having a couple of talking heads providing live analysis from a studio somewhere. The Double Play split-screen shots are cool too. My favorite part of MLB.tv though is getting the 4-games view going and keeping tabs on when a fantasy player is on the mound or at the plate.

From the number of reads with no replies, I'd guess that this isn't getting many views. I hope that they don't drop it. They do a good job hopping around the live games. The only drawback is that it's only weekdays and it starts at 8:30. Odd time IMO

I agree, the commentary is low. The NFL Red Zone actually shows the guy in the studio quite a bit. Probably too much. MLB never shows this person (that I've seen), so, yeah, the action is the focus.

I have MLB.tv - is it listed under the games section or somewhere else?

Its under Featured, but good point. Maybe most people don't even know its there. You really have to scroll down and if you're looking for live action, that's up top.

EDIT: I've tweeted MLB.TV about moving it up to the live action section. Worth a try

What’s the advantage to this vs. clicking a button and having a different game on in 15 seconds? Seems like a chatty host who knows the game situation would be the added value...

Sounds like it takes you to a key play or a highlight like the NFL Red Zone channel does?
