Shaw's kind of back in the neighborhood of more realistic statistical expectations this year. Still think it's likely that 3B might be something we want to look at in July.

30% strikeout rate, .280ish OBP and he's not hitting the ball hard. It was worth a shot because our other options were so bad but it was always the most likely scenario that he wouldn't be good.

He's been a streaky hitter since forever. Nothing about what he's doing now is surprising. The key is how long it's going to take for him to get hot again.

Guess it’s going to be a bullpen day. What a disastrous start to this series.

Edit: Adam McCalvy points out this is the first game of a stretch for the Brewers where they’ll be playing 17 games over the next 17 days.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Shaw's wRC+ is 92.

But last 14 and last 7 days it's 73 and -3... that's getting mighty cold.

This is why another starter would've been nice. Anderson couldn't even get through the 60 game season last year without getting hurt and has gone over 100 innings twice in 9 years. It's not great that our 6th and 7th starters are Josh Lindblom and Eric Lauer.
