Seen it a quite a few times, usually hits the batters helmet. Can’t say I recall an instance where someone was on base and advanced though.

Caratini threw it off Narvs bat. Shaw ran to 2. Shoulda struck out, but then hammered a hanging curve.

On the pitch that really was a strike but was called ball 3, the catcher threw to third and before it went anywhere it bounced off Narvy's bat and rolled around, giving Shaw 2nd.
