Lol, you guys are really overblowing the one play. It would have been a really nice play to make, but even a good defender isn't going to make EVERY above average possible catch. His aggressive attempt still kept the runner from scoring, I'll give him some points for that.

I mean it was a really bad read. That's what happened, it's not overblowing it. No one said it doesn't happen to the best of them.

If the runner had been thrown out would they still have called it umpire interference? Like is it considered a dead ball, or can only good outcomes happen for the catcher once that occurs.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I'm confused at why Omar was deprived of the steal; I'm confused why Omar was stealing...

Hit and Run. Catcher hit the home plate ump's facemask on his throw so...I guess that means it doesn't count?

Unless you can see with JBJ's eyes I'm not sure you can definitively state it was a bad read.

Very good question. I've never seen something like that called. In any other instance that I've seen, any interference/contact from the umpire is considered incidental.

Why would I need to see it with JBJ'S eyes? You can see him get a bad jump on it without having a view from centerfield.

Why do we get punished for the umpire getting in the way? When a ball hits the umpire in the field of play it's fair game.

Umpire is part of the field when it comes to a batted or thrown live ball, but if an ump impedes a defensive player, the play is automatically dead.

Interesting. Well, good call then, what can I say.
