Really hoping the offense can come to life soon because this starting pitching is phenomenal. Currently 29th in MLB in OPS (.623) with a team wRC+ of 73. If those numbers get back towards league average I will feel pretty good about this team.

Well they've scored 34 runs (including today's game) in their last 6 games compared to 19 in their first 6 so I think they're on the right track. The first week might end up being the outlier.

Getting Yelich, Cain, and Wong healthy should help a bit. But the good news is that Pittsburgh is next, and in theory, a juggernaut offense should not be required to pick up a couple games.

But now I'm thinking about a certain series in Pittsburgh going into the 2018 All Star break...Yeah, so, better keep warming up the bats...

Man, Lindblom has not looked good so far this season

DFA. Seriously, if he can't even pitch mop-up innings without getting in trouble or requiring somebody to warm up behind him. What's the point?

At the end of the day he pitched 2 innings, gave up a hit, and hit a guy. No one scored.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

2 innings and no runs allowed means DFA? Tough crowd.

There's a reason he's pitching mop up. He's not Burnes, he's not going to just strike everyone out. He's actually been pretty successful in this role, It got exciting once but by and large he's nailing these innings down with little commotion.

Yep, he is what he is, a 35 year old finesse pitcher who can’t hit his spots. The line score looks clean but he can in with a 7-0 lead and they had to get somebody up in the pen before he could finish it.

With a guarantee this year and next he’s likely not going anywhere but the point is they must have a pitcher in the organization who can mop up and offer some scintilla of upside

Got to listen to parts of the game between work meetings. Nice clean win by the team. My only wish was that Burnes would've given a big bat flip after his single and kissed his necklace on the way to first base.

Long season, no reason to make those kind of moves in April on a mop up guy.

The Brewers also are down much of their AAA starting pitching depth (Bettinger, File, Brown), and you could make a pretty good case that he had a better last year or spring than Lauer, Zimmermann and Godley.
