Love to put up a 7 spot in this inning.

Wouldn't be the worst thing for Burnes to just keep the bat on his shoulder right here. No double plays.

Wow, don't mind me. #CorbinBurnesForever

That's twice now that they have had a pitcher bat, then lifted him anyway. Suter the other day. Weird.

I think that if he wouldn't have gotten on, Burnes likely would have came back out for the 7th. The fact that he had to run the bases, plus that he extended the lead, likely led to the change.

In this case I think when the lead became 7 they just figured they'd let the bullpen mop it up.

Yep.....no reason to risk something bad happening

Brian Anderson talking like a true Milwaukeean describing any town north of Madison as "up north".

My wife is from Rockland County, NY, which is just north of NYC and right on the New Jersey border. Lots of New Yorkers call it "upstate."

Guys this guy is doing things that have never been done

First pitcher since 1906 to have 30 Ks and no walks in first 3 starts.

And...

Corbin Burnes is the first pitcher in the last 120 seasons of MLB to have a streak of 3 straight games with 6+ IP and 2 or fewer baserunners allowed.

Urias now leads MLB in walks. The hits will come too eventually, but until then having that ability to still consistently get on base along with seemingly very good defense at SS is still very useful.

Hope Burnes keeps this up. Who was the last Brewers to win a Cy Young? Has a Brewer ever won the Cy Young?

Not since the move to the NL: Fingers and Vuckovich won it back-to-back in the '81 and '82 seasons, respectively.

EDIT: Didn't see Underachiever's post above--did not mean to pile on at all (I had forgotten about these Cy Young winners, too, seeing as I wasn't, you know, alive at the time...but my old man tells me of the glory days often)

Listen, young man. Let me tell you about Pete Vuckovich and Rollie Fingers.

Yep. Early 80's. I was about negative 6 years old.
