Well, it didn’t take long to make it a ballgame again.

I would bet that before this game is over Hader will be pitching with the tying run at the plate.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I'll take back any questioning of the Houser/Lindblom decision. At least Garcia had a good game and Narvaez having a good year to show some redemption to that Stearns Offseason of Horrors.

The Houser SP/RP argument to me is separate from Lindblom.

Lindblom just doesn't belong in the big leagues at all.

As far as Stearns goes, he's still a good GM for sure. However, there's no questioning he's made some absolutely brutal moves over the last 18 months or so. The genius tag has definitely run its course. It looked like his first 2 years that everything he touched would turn to gold.

Turns out, he has plenty of whiffs just like any other GM.

Does Lindblom have a three year contract? If so, why? Guy wouldn’t have taken a one year deal to return to the majors and see what he has (and get paid)? Swing and a miss by Stearns.

Yes, owe him another $3M for 2022. [sarcasm]Had to outbid the Doosan Bears to entice him to leave the KBO[/sarcasm]

I really enjoy having Shaw back on this team. Offensively and more so defensively.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

He was the Korean Cy Young; he likely had multiple multi-year offers. But yeah, there’s a reason he was in Korea in the first place.... he can’t get major league hitters out consistently

I’ll hold on anything with Lindblom. The guy is used to getting the ball every 5–6 days and now he’s randomly tossed in ball games. I’ll give him a bit to adjust.

I think the whole point of the 3 year contract for Lindblom was that if you struck it rich, you had extra control for cheap.

Obviously, wish that had been in the form of team options instead of guarantees. They may reach a point where they just have to eat it.

Agree with this. Probably needs to focus on three pitches as a reliever, see which is working on a given day.
