2021-04-07: Brewers (Woodruff) at Cubs (Hendricks) [Brewers win, 4-2 in 10 innings -- Woodruff allows just one hit over 7 IP; Cain hits two late inning go-ahead home runs]

Eye Black
Huira has swung at 37% of first pitches this year (32% in 2019 and 27% in 2020). So maybe being aggressive is better?

I only played through high school, so obviously I can't speak to what it's like in the big leagues, but my attitude was that if the first pitch was a good one to hit, there was no reason to put myself in an 0-1 hole just for the sake of...something. Of course, that approach isn't going to work for someone who doesn't have a good eye at the plate.

They need to change that George Webb promotion to something a little more realistic. Maybe 5 hits gets you 5 burgers for 5 bucks?

In all seriousness, as discouraging as the offense has been, if Peralta turns out to be anything at all as a starter, the future and present of this rotation has never been brighter. Woodruff/Burnes/Peralta could be a 3 headed monster.

Should have started Narvaez

Yeah, my comment above was meant to note that Huira was less aggressive in 2020 - perhaps attempting to walk more? So maybe being aggressive will help him bring back a bit of 2019? Of course, he still needs to make contact (58% whiff rate)...

My god Keston, figure it out.

Put Vogelbach at 1B for the next week, I'm sick of this already.

Two more whiffs for Hiura today. Dude really needs to go to the ATS to figure it out. What is most concerning is that pitchers are just blowing fastballs by him. Gotta think a complete swing change may be in order.

Right down the middle.......

Gameday 2 fouls and swings and misses 80mph changeup. Hendriks FB is 86mph. Hiura cant even put in to play 80-86 right down main street. Believe or not there was a time as a prospect Hiura had a few votes of confidence that he was going to be a better hitter than Vlad Jr. Since rookie year whatever any one did to his swing it has made Ben Sheets look capable to hit better than Keston this season.
