What a finish. The Divisional Round has absolutely delivered. Amazing stuff.

I personally took solace in this closing minute. As a Packers fan, I absolutely know they have zero timeouts remaining in that situation. Plus, even if for some reason they manage to get into fg position...there is absolutely zero way their fg kick unit gets off a clean kick.

Feels refreshing.

Chiefs vs Rams would be visually pleasing uniform wise

You just knew all those Buffalo folks were going to pay the price celebrating like it was over. At arrowhead mahomes with 13 on the clock and 3 timeouts. Come on.

What a game though!

Buffalo played the worst percent D in the history of the NFL.

It's amazing how surgical a good coach and offense are with clock management nowadays. Incredible that you can leave the opposing offense with 13 seconds and it's still too much time. There wasn't anything overly dramatic about the Chiefs last regulation drive or anything crazy that happened. Pass over the middle, soft defense, 20 yards, down, timeout, repeat, drill FG. They made it look so easy. They knew exactly how fast they needed to operate to get two plays off in 12 or less seconds. Edited by adambr2

Bills never should have kicked off deep.

It was obvious to me, and probably most others watching, that a squib kick, hard down the field was the way to go. Make sure it runs off another 5 or 6 seconds, then it takes an absolute miracle on the part of Mahomes to win.

It was just a horribly bad call to make there.

Almost as bad as Tampa allowing Kuup to run down the field with 42 seconds left. That was a really painful ending.

Tough to be Bucs, Packers, and Bills fans this morning. For all the great things that happened in those games, there was an equal amount of questionable ref calls, and stupid coaching decisions made all weekend long.

What a weekend of NFL playoff games. I doubt it gets much better than what we witnessed last weekend, even though our teams lost, it was entertaining as hell.

Honestly, the Bills should have mauled every Chiefs receiver on the first play from scrimmage, just straight up tackled them, and taken the 5 yard penalty. They would have won.

I know these things are easy to Monday morning QB but there are so many little intricacies of clock management in the NFL that separate the really good coaches from the next level geniuses.

Defensive penalties result in an untimed down to prevent this very scenario.

Now that I think about it this weekend being the greatest divisional weekend of football is overrated. Two great games on Sunday, but the two games on Saturday were just two regular games that just so happened to end on walk off field goals. That's not uncommon enough to call them great.

In hindsight then, they probably should have mauled them anyway and hoped it wasn't called ;)

The squib kickoff may have worked better for them but IDK...the kickoff return is really your best shot at the open field in that situation...it is possibly your best chance to score and get some green space to work with. Not a popular opinion, but I'm almost in favor of the super boot out of bounds when you can do it.

Their defense should have been able to hold them for 13 seconds. Really, one play, because if the first play goes for nothing, you're most likely down to the lateral circus play. I don't think the kickoff was really all that egregious, personally.

I agree with this. If they had kicked it off and gave up a modest return, the Bills would be crucified for it today. They gave them the ball at the 25 with seconds left. The failure is on the defense, not the decision to kick deep.

Sure, if it's the last play of the game. Not if there's 13 seconds left and you kill 6 of those 13 on first and 10 with a 5 yard defensive penalty.

I don't think the squib was the play. Guy can just fall on it at the 30ish and no time runs off. The move was to kick high to the 5ish yd line towards a sideline like so many teams try to do regularly. It forces them to blow 5-7 seconds or start at the 5.

The argument against it would be if Hill was out there. Don't hold me to it, but I thought they showed someone else besides Hill back. Either way, I think I still do it as it's better to have Hill with it at the 5 after a high kick than at the 40 after he catches a pass of some kind. But, who knows, maybe the Buff kicker just isn't good at the popup type kicks like this.

I think it's all easier said that done. Any angled kick is a risk to go out of bounds and become fodder for "what on Earth were they thinking." Any higher than normal kick is a risk to get overrun by the kickoff team, or throw off the timing, and set up a dangerous return.

Maybe you are right, maybe the squib is right...but to me whole situation smacks of anything they did was likely to get criticized as the wrong kickoff if they lost the game.

13 seconds at the 25 is extremely high percentage for the defense...especially the #1 defense. They played to their strength and it didn't work.
