This Raiders Bengals game is borderline unwatchable because of officials and replay delays

Has there been an official change allowing refs to fix obvious stuff they see on the jumbo tron or calling in to the league to fix stuff without a challenge or score/turnover? It seems like it happens all the time now, I am pretty sure on that timeout/roughing the passer they went with the replay to say the roughing was incidental.

Edit: question answered on broadcast, "replay assist".

does the "run no play and hope to draw them off sides" ever work?

Are the Bengals the NFL version of the Brewers? Expansion team in late 60s, Super Bowl appearances in 80s but never won it all, long playoff win drought, small market, easy to overlook...

Welp, 0 for 1 on predictions. Penalties killed the Raiders and the Bengals offensive line played amazingly well. Didn't see that coming. I'm still picking them to lose next week, unless they play the Bills. Then I'll have to think about that one. One of them has to win that game. Edited by PinaMadness

Raiders had some key d linemen out, which im sure factored into Burrow not constantly being harassed. That Bengal line will look much different assuming they are playing on the road next week.

A mainly boring game is having an awfully exciting finish.

If the Raiders don't self destruct all game long and the refs actually follow the inadvertent whistle rule appropriately, Vegas wins that game rather easily.

That's quite an assumption

Everything went against the Raiders today, including their own drive-killing penalties in the first half, and they still had multiple goal to go chances to tie the game that was a 7 point deficit because of a TD that should not have counted. Its an assumption, sure, but not a stretch

The Bengals could've easily scored a touchdown again if the down was replayed. We'll never know now, but if they didn't they still would've had three out of it. In the end, the better team won.

Agreed that one play doesn't determine the whole outcome....but I came out of that game wondering how cincy didn't win by 20 with how poorly Vegas played. Cincy was the better team today but mostly because the Raiders beat themselves.

Cincy was in control of the game most of the way through. Every time Vegas scored, or got within a score, Cincy scored or answered. They didn't take unnecessary risks, and kicked field goals because that's all they needed to keep it 2 scores most of the way through the game. I don't think the game hinged at all on that one play.

There are some throws Allen makes that are just unreal.

I do not watch the afc much in the regular season and I sometimes forget how dynamic Allen is until I watch him again. They look really impressive, hot take in the first half but this may be their year to get out of the AFC.

Nah, I can pretty much guarantee a Chiefs-Titans AFCCG.
