I am sort of annoyed that there is no nfc game today. They couldn’t flip the early weekend games? Eagles played on Saturday and Raiders had OT Sunday night.

I think they have to try and keep the net rest advantage to a minimum. If the NFC played today and Monday, it’s possible you’d have a team playing on 8 days rest next week with their opponent having only 6.

I’d prefer to keep it simple: AFC plays one days and NFC plays another.

Yes keeping the conferences on different weekend days the first 2 rounds would be great but no way the NFL wants to be penned in putting the lower rated AFC in prime TV spots. At least no one gets 8 days off before the Packers.

My fear is that the Packers will play next Sunday and their NFCCG opponent I’ll play next Saturday.

that's not fear, that's optimism.

I think you're way putting way too much stock into this. This probably happens to some team almost every year.

Sure, I’m probably overrating the importance of an extra day’s rest (it didn’t help last year), but it’s still an advantage I’d prefer the Packers have.

The Cowboys could fire McCarthy if he doesn’t make a deep playoff run and replace him with Kellen Moore:

Someone please explain to me why Kellen Moore is such a hot commodity. I just don't see it. From what I've seen from them the past two seasons, the offense has underperformed and the play calling is suspect.

Honestly that is believable, we are all familiar with him but it's weird how the national media treats him since he has been in Dallas. He was widely praised right up until the last year in Green Bay but now in dallas under that national microscope he is ridiculed, I guess no hiding the game management flaws any more.

Nice opening drive by the Raiders gets derailed by a penalty but they still get three.

Holy crap I have been watching a Bills-Patriots rerun on NFL network thinking it was the playoff game, Bills just converted on 4th down. Doh!

Too bad you weren't posting here on the game.

Wow! A whistle was definitely blown before that touchdown catch.

Yeah. I don't know ow if they are allowed to let the play stand if a whistle is blown, but I think it was the right call to let it be a td. I don't think the whistle affected the play.

I'm behind in the game and the referee expert confirmed by rule the play should have been rerun due to inadvertent whistle.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Rules are rules. Dungy explained it best. If you're an official, you can't just pretend it didn't happen because you made a huge mistake. That down needed to be replayed. We'll see if it plays a part in the result of the game soon enough.
