Who is claiming to know what's going to happen re: Super Bowl? I don't think I've seen a single person actually say GB will be in the Super Bowl? Or do you mean MVP?

I don't see any QB with a chance besides Rodgers and Brady. In every sport besides sometimes baseball, you pretty much need an established track record of at least being good to get MVP.

Stafford, Burrow, Herbert are not winning it. They weren't good enough. Brady has a lot of pull, he could get it, just based on what he achieved last year. Obviously still really good, but the way Tampa kinda limped at the end and GB pulled away with #1, plus all that Rodgers overcame...I think he'll get it. I don't think it's particularly close in the end, but Brady is the only guy that I think has a chance.

Current mvp odds:

Rodgers -400

Brady +500

Burrow +1000

Here's the last 20 years of MVPs with their playoff seeding. If recent-ish history is any kind of indicator (Vegas seems to think it is), being the QB for a #1 seed gives you the best shot at MVP with 9 of the last 12 winners fitting the criteria...

2020: Rodgers #1

2019: Jackson #1

2018: Mahomes #1

2017: Brady #1

2016: Ryan #2

2015: Newton #1

2014: Rodgers #2

2013: Manning #1

2012: Peterson #6

2011: Rodgers #1

2010: Brady #1

2009: Manning #1

2008: Manning #5

2007: Brady #1

2006: Tomlinson #1

2005: Alexander #1

2004: Manning #3

2003: Manning #2 / McNair #5

2002: Gannon #1

2001: Warner #1

Raiders rookie DB Hobbs arrested for DUI. Talk about a franchise in a free fall off the field, yet have held it together on the field for the most part.

Obviously learned nothing from his teammate Ruggs. If that doesn't teach you anything, nothing will.

So all the hoopla over Ben R...

Did he or did he not get into a lot of trouble back in the day with sexual assault allegations, etc? Was he found innocent? I just don't remember how that all worked out.

Seems he has been completely forgiven by the sports media, and has now been anointed Lord of QBs...

I do wonder what light he'd be viewed in if all of that had taken place 8-10 years later as part of the larger movement against male celebs with regard to that stuff, honestly. The NFL basically acts as though it never happened, despite the literal fact they suspended him for his conduct back then.

Brady has been playing without his offensive stars all season long, Gronk was out more than half the season, AB out for various reasons, Fournette has been dinged up and lost for the season a couple weeks ago, Evans has sat games, and Godwin out for the season. Brady has not yet seen a full offensive roster all year, so just because Rodgers has been missing guys as well doesn't mean he is the only one having to deal with it.

Sorry, but Rodgers has had more injuries to deal with all year long on the offensive side of the ball, for much longer than Brady as well. Rodgers has played the entire season without his starting LT, his starting LG was playing out of position and then went down with an ACL injury about a month ago, his starting center has been out most of the year, the current starting center should probably be playing RG so the rookie starter there didn't have to take all his lumps in game action while developing, and his starting RT has missed the last month or so of games as well. TE1 out for the year with an ACL mid-season, RB1 missed a few games due to a knee sprain, WR1 out a couple games due to COVID and an injury, slot receiver out the past month, WR2 out about half the season with hamstring/COVID issues. Has been playing himself with a broken toe on his plant foot for over a month...

One position grouping the Buccaneers have been remarkably healthy at is their O-line, which is probably the strength of their offense to begin with. Put Brady behind a line in Tampa Bay that is missing 4 of its opening day starters along with not having their best tackle the entire season and he's nowhere near passing for a 5,000 yard season even if he has a full complement of veteran skill position players. To me the guys up front are much more important to an elite quarterback's production than who he's throwing to - if he has time to survey the field, a really good veteran quarterback will put up numbers no matter who's running routes in today's NFL.

All of the key offensive skill position players Tampa has lost have gone down recently, which mirrors their uneven offensive performance in recent weeks - Gronk is no longer a great player and frankly should be expected to miss significant time due to injury at this stage of his career. The Godwin injury hurts them a ton - he's a better version of what Edelman was with the Pats in Brady's earlier years, and frankly doesn't happen if Brady doesn't throw him into that hit a few weeks ago.

yes. just like ray Lewis. with enough star power and out of court settlements, anything will go away in time.

Yeah, all that fawning that went on last night for Ben about made me sick. It was pretty gross.

I felt like I must be the last guy on earth that remembered he was in some pretty big time trouble, and that maybe I missed something regarding his innocence.

One has to wonder if David Bakhtiari is even worth playing at this point with how well the rest of the group has played. He hasn't played in a year and we're going to toss him into the divisional game for his first snap?

I'm willing to see what it looks like.

Yeah - if he's not able to play this week in Detroit to at least get some game snaps, I'd be really hesitant to activate him for a playoff game for his first action if it meant having to deactivate a healthy lineman and leaving yourself too thin across the line if Bakh either can't make it through a full game or is a turnstyle after a full season of inactivity. Same thought goes towards wanting Alexander to play this weekend to test that shoulder out a bit so his first attempt at a tackle or contact in a divisional playoff game doesn't lead to him going off the field and then they have one less active DB to turn to - hopefully Alexander's COVID issues progress quickly and he's feeling strong enough to go Sunday afternoon.

I know it's a bit far out yet but some people here always seem to know...is there any way to gauge when the Packers most likely play on that 2nd weekend? Is it traditionally the Saturday afternoon game?

Could be wrong, but I don't think they'll set times/dates for the divisional round until after the end of this week's games at the earliest - pretty sure they will split up the #1 seed games so there's one on Saturday and one Sunday, and timing will depend on what potential matchups there look to be. Really a crapshoot at this point since both top seeds are located in the central time zone.

Yeah, the last two seasons the NFC 1 seed has been the Saturday afternoon 3:30 game in the divisional round, but I think that's more happenstance based on the quality of matchups that weekend than anything else.

My pure speculation is that if we see a Packers/Bucs or Packers/Cowboys divisional matchup, that will be seen as the highest potential draw that weekend and likely slated for a primetime matchup on Saturday night. Anything else will likely be an earlier game on Saturday or Sunday. Against just my own speculation.

Is Kevin Stefanski even trying? Baker Mayfield is a train wreck. The Steelers have the worst run D in football. Nick Chubb has 4(!) carries in the first half. What is he doing?

Being eliminated from the playoffs already, I really think they were putting the ball in Baker's hands to further evaluate the guy and help them decide what they're going to do at the position going forward. Feel like this season it has become clear that he isn't the guy, but think they were giving him another chance to prove something before the offseason where a decision likely needs to be made.

If it is Packers Cowboys it will be the late Sunday game. I don’t know if Tampa is possible anymore anyone else I would say is Saturday.

I think if bucks, cards, and rams all lose and Dallas wins, tampa would fall to the 4 seed, but I'm only about 80% sure. If just tampa loses, tamps would still have the tie breaker by beating Dallas. If bucs and rams lose, I'm not sure who would win between cards and bucs(I see rams haven't clinched yet, so I'm not sure what has to play out for the cards to win the division either).

So basically a long shot for tampa to fall to the 4 seed.

Remember what Yoda said:
