Can't say that I'm sad having given up on the NFL years ago.

And this is supposed to be one of the league's top officials? The guy should be fired today.

There isn't a single Bears fan that should watch 1 more minute of NFL football this year.

It would be hard to blame them for making a decision like that. That team sucks. Fields is talented, but Nagy is a terrible coach, and that offensive line is going to get Fields killed.

As for the flag itself, if the practice squad moron would have simply gone back to the huddle instead of deciding to trash talk the whole Steelers sideline, nothing would have happened. As a football coach, that type of behavior infuriates me. There's no reason for it. Let your play do the talking.

I don't believe the ref "intentionally" hip checked Marsh either. Seemed pretty incidental to me.

And this is supposed to be one of the league's top officials?

There's not a single person that I'm aware of that would consider Tony Corrente a 'top official'. There's a huge difference between 'around the longest' and 'good'. In fact, only the fact that Jeff Triplette was a ref at the same time kept Corrente from being the league's WORST official. Now that Triplette retired, Corrente is head and shoulders above the rest as the worst.

I'm worried the Bears get a competent or semi-competent offensive mind to be head coach. They have talented skill players without a clue how to utilize them.

The most interesting thing in that video was the obesity of the Steelers punter.

Why do I read so many posts/comments about the NLF from people that have given up on the NFL? It's like they don't know what that phrase means.

I was going to comment on that as well.

If JosephC was following the NFL, he’d know that they’ve been trying to crackdown on taunting this year and that the penalty had nothing to do with running into the ref. You can argue all you want about it being a crappy call and it looks that way to me. Just because you are facing your opponents bench doesn’t mean you are taunting them and it doesn’t even look like the Bears player is saying anything - refs need to make sure they know what they are seeing/hearing before calling a potential game-changing penalty in that situation. I’m all for taunting to be removed from the game - let them celebrate with teammates, fans, etc but the taunting can go.

I do agree there should be some type of punishment handed to the ref as it looks like he intentionally moved into the player and if a player did that to a ref, he’d likely be ejected and fined.

Mac Jones is dirty

Not seeing the dirty.

Better angle

Well the QB who fumbled commented he was trying to tackle Burns as the thought was Burns picked up the ball. Meh. Burns made it look over dramatic by spin falling as if to break free, certainly didn't have to do that and it may be why that ankle aggravation came from doing.

I share these concerns with you. Fields seems to be progressing week to week and I think he's proving he can be a competent QB in the NFL. I find myself actually rooting for them to win some of these close games they are in - they aren't a threat to the Packers this year but if they are able to hang around .500, then maybe Nagy can point to Fields development as an excuse for them to give him another year.

Would hate for them to get a Lafleur/Shanahan/McVay type of guy in there.

Nagy has the same problem that PC has with the Badgers they refuse to make changes and when they do make changes during the game it is away from something that they have been running successfully. These changes normally pop up during critical parts of the game. Both coaches are extremely stubborn to move away from something that isn't working because it is the core of what makes their teams go.

They also tend to run plays that don't take advantage of the talent that they have and instead put that talent in positions that just won't work for them.

I thought it was more about him kicking his legs around and wrapping up the other leg and tripping Burns that was more the point. If he had simply hung onto the one foot, there probably wouldn't been any issue

There will be at least one nfl playoff game this postseason that gets largely determined before kickoff because a team has key guys out due to covid.

The NFL needs to start testing vaccinated players more frequently than is currently required (weekly) under protocols, or it will be too easy for significant spread inside a team facility to occur before they even find out.

Another option would be what we did for a really long time, which is the team/players/doctors deciding who can and can't play based on how they feel ... otherwise we can probably adjust to Covid inactives as a permanent thing.

So are you saying that if they test positive, but feel fine, they should be allowed to play?

No judgment on who should be allowed to do what, but if that's not what we do, the reality is that Covid testing is a new permanent thing in the NFL/sports. It's not like it will be eradicated from the population any time soon. And if we stick with this, I'm not exactly clear on why someone with flu-like symptoms who tests negative should be allowed to play either.

Now as for my opinion...the nonstop testing and "lists" were necessary evils pre-vaccine and with limited knowledge. But we have a vaccine, and we have a lot more knowledge. So is this a permanent thing now or what?

Cam Newton signs with Carolina.

DJ Moore kisses the person next to him.

Cam throws a pass in practice.

DJ Moore vomits.

The AFC is drunk

there are 10 teams in the AFC with either 5 or 6 wins. the colts with 4 wins are still on the periphery of contention. the titans, even without derrick henry have to feel pretty good about where they're at.

the Bengals were the #1 seed 2 weeks ago. I think as it stands right now, they're out.

As it stands right now, the Bengals are now last place in the AFC North division & have to dwell on that as they have their bye week

Feels like the Bills should be able to figure it out at some point. Unlike the Chiefs, they have a really good defense.

That would still be my pick to click in the AFC....although it also feels like it could be one of those years where a marginal veteran team squeaks in and then runs the table to get to the Super Bowl before getting blasted by whomever the NFC sends - Steelers or Chiefs (assuming Mahomes heats up) come to mind.

Reports out there on the interwebs saying the Packers "lowballed" OBJ with their contract offer. Apparently LAR offered $4.25MM guaranteed plus incentives, so if that's true the Packers couldn't have offered that with their current cap situation. While not fake new, pretty lazy reporting at best, misleading at worst.
