Kansas City looking more like the Queefs than the Chiefs this year

Their schedule has been brutal, in their defense (maybe defense isn't a good word to use when talking about the Chiefs). I mean Browns, Bills, Ravens, and Titans already is pretty rough. I mean they have essentially played every Super Bowl contender in the AFC. Of course they have lost all of those games minus the Browns (which who knows about them) and in a few got rocked.

The bad part for the Chiefs, it really doesn't get much more pleasant. They still have one of the top AFC teams (Bengals) and two NFC Super Bowl caliber teams (Cowboys/Packers). Then they have a flurry of of divisional games, including on the road to the Chargers that already beat them at Arrowhead. They haven't played the #1 team in the division once yet.

Their season is good as toast because A) They aren't that great and B) Even if they make the playoffs they are unlikely to see Arrowhead outside of a WC game...if that.

The Packers are apparently the most hated team in 6 states: MN, MI, IL, IA, ND, and SD. The Bears are the most hated team in WI, while the Cowboys are the most hated team overall:

I’ve never really hated the Bears. For me, my hated teams are 1) Vikings, 2) Seahawks, 3) Cowboys.

Sheesh what did we ever do to offend Lions fans? I don't even think I know a Lions fan, they are like across the ocean from us. I always thought the UP was full of Packer fans.

Jealousy, probably. They've been at the bottom of the division for the past 20+ years and we've been at the top that same time period.

NOTE: The UP is not full of anything... it is mostly empty. But what is there are generally Packer fans. There are significantly more Lions "fans" in Detroit area than people in the UP.

I've also lived on both WI borders: IL and MN. There is plenty of hate of the Vikings and Bears, but once again...far more people on the IL border than the MN border.

Wow, Metcalf can really be a loose cannon at times.

I wish the Packers would've drafted him.

Elgton Jenkins was a nice consolation prize.

Soggy night in San Francisco.

Always nice seeing the 49ers get beat.

Jimmy garoppolo is really fool's Gold.

The shine is coming off the Kyle Shanahan narrative awfully quickly, I think. It’s kind of like 80% of a coach’s ultimate reputation boils down to QB1…

In 4+ years, Shanahan is:

6-10

4-12

13-3

6-10

2-4

I’m not seeing it either, but you’re right. Much of that is on QB play. He was a wunderkind OC when he was coaching a prime Matt Ryan.

That 13-3 record was just as much due to a soft last place schedule and stud defensive roster coming together at the same time compared to it being because of good QB play. I think those records also speak to how fickle sustained success can be if you don't have a damn good quarterback leading the way. The 49ers defense is nowhere near the dominating unit it was a few seasons ago, and that's not just due to injuries - they've lost some key players and staff that made that thing go, too.

At some point they just need to turn things over to Lance to see if he's going to be the guy, because Jimmy G isn't.

I'm a 49er fan. They've been decimated with injuries recently. However, they traded Buckner and that looks like it was a poor mistake. He's been healthy and a stud for Indy, and his replacement has not progressed as they had hoped. On top of that...Jimmy G appears to be 'just a guy'. But again, Deebo was hurt much of last year and Kittle has been out a lot too. He doesn't have a lot of weapons. Not to mention the revolving door at RB due to injuries.

Also, keep in mind that they are a made fg away from being 3-3 with one of those losses a 1 score loss to the undefeated Cardinals.

I would say Shanahan has put them in a position to win most every week. Players have to do their part too.

I grew up in the UP and it is a pretty even split between Lions/Packers fans. My entire family roots for the Lions minus 2 relatives and myself. It was about a 50/50 split in my friends as well. The western UP has a higher Packer fan volume than the eastern UP.

Fair comment. I knew more about western UP than eastern. Still.. it IS mostly empty. ;)

Then you have the oddballs like my cousins that were in Marquette and Viking fans. I tried to avoid them...

People can rag on the Packers stock sale all they want but I'm guessing WFT fans would pay a pretty penny a different owner.

Chicago too.

When the first stock sale (in my life) happened, I thought it was silly. Then kind of regretted not doing it. So when the second came around, I bought it.

Yes, a bit silly concept, but I look at it as a way to keep my beloved team where they are and support the uniqueness of a community owned team. And being able to tell people I'm an NFL owner (I've had some REALLY funny looks). :laughing

I peeked at the Buccaneers’ remaining schedule.

They’re playing against the AFC East and NFC East this season, so the Packers can’t count on a ton of help outside of the Bills (already beat the Cowboys 31-29 in Week 1). The Bucs’ 17th game is @Indianapolis.

I don't mean to rag on the Packer stock sale. I just am jealous of the brilliant business model. Kind of like I'm jealous of the genius who made up an idea to take people's worthless junk for free, sell it for a profit and slap a name like "Goodwill" on it so it sounds good.

Heck, I once paid $100 to get my name put into the credits of the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD release of the movies back when they were still being filmed. Was it money well spent? Probably not, nobody cares that my name appears there except me, nobody will find it or really take note of it unless they have a lot of spare time on their hands. It's insignificant among the thousands of other names in the list. I think the full scroll from beginning to end takes somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes just with the people who also paid to have their name added. No sane person reads that unless they're looking for a specific name.

I would argue people that give the Packers their money to own a piece of paper got more value than I did. :laughing

Out of my survivor pool thanks to the Bengals. Apparently the Jets have been starting the wrong QB this whole time.
