The guy has looked like he was in pain since the day we signed him.

He hobbles around like an old man most of the time, wincing in pain just jogging to the OF and with every swing of the bat.

I used to wonder if he just did that for attention, but I think his body is just breaking down.

At this point, I am just hoping he opts out and we don't have to pay him another 30 million, especially now that we have Bradley.

He’s not opting out.....can we please stop bringing it up in every thread about Cain?

He wasn't opting out last year either until he did 5 games into the season. Fair or not, he has a history.

I'll put Cain down for say 115 games, a 96 wRC+, about +3 on the bases & around 9 runs saved in the field for 2021, which probably shakes out somewhere in the neighborhood 2.5 to 3.0 WAR.

There are seven seasons worth of data points supporting that kind of potential outcome in Lorenzo's history.

I'll take the over on that...not because I think you're wrong, I just think having to play a little less will help him out in the long run.

I don't quite see Cain as the albatross others do(and I'm assuming from this, you don't either as 3 WAR is pretty good in the last couple years of a 5 year deal for a vet).

Unless an injury is obviously serious in spring training I don't really care. He's bound to have some aches and pains. I don't even want to call them injuries. Just aches and pains that the Brewers are rightfully being careful with.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I have to wonder if this is part of why Jackie Bradley was signed.

I'll be surprised if Cain starts more than 100 games this year.

I'll easily take the under on that 100.

I think we all knew the end of that 5 year deal would be a nightmare.

So, here we are.

Imagine having Grisham instead of Garcia.

Yelich, Bradley, Grisham.

Damnit man, dont do that... I really want both back.

I would love Davies still in our rotation... Woodruff, Burnes, Davies, Houser, Lindblom... Who doesnt like that?

I’ll be interested to see what Grisham does this season. Cain was always going to be questionable towards the end. The pandemic didn’t help that. But, you get what you pay for and he was huge for us in 2018.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

2018-19 paid for all 5 years for me. He was part of a culture shift that changed our team. Without him there is no back to back playoffs and definitely not going 7 games with the Dodgers in an NLCS. He also gifted us by opting out last year (even though contracts were prorated). So he really only has. 4 year deal in all reality for $64 mil. Definitely not going to cripple us.

That trade could end up an absolute disaster. Grisham is only starting to enter his prime and is already looking like a high OBP average power guy. Urias and Lauer look like dog poo.

Having Bradley makes this 10x easier.

But I miss Lo in the lineup already. Makes it feel way more like 2020 the past few days.

Exactly why they went out and got a veteran 4th OFer who has historically given fairly competent offense+defense.
