Packer 2021 Draft Discussion- Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia; Round 2 Josh Myers, C, Ohio State; 3: Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson

She started with "Am..." and I thought I had another one.

Gadget guy, punt returner. I had the right profile and position, wrong guy.

Think a 4th was a little steep to move up only seven spots.

How true. Moved up to take Love with a 4th. To move up 7spots in the 3rd cost the same? Why not the Comp 4th pick? Now watch we trade a 5th and move up 10spots with the 4th rd pick we still have.

People like the draft so most likely it’ll stink.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

92 and 135 = 170 pts. 170 pts. = pick 84, exactly. So yes, the Packers slightly overpaid in getting #85, but by the slightest amount possible.

As far as value is concerned I think we should be ecstatic they took him in the 3rd and not the 2nd:

Interesting. Gutey says the #Packers were between Josh Myers & Amari Rodgers at #62. Decided it was worth trading up to get Rodgers at #85.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com gave the Packers an A for Day 1 and an A- for Day 2.

I do have an issue with what he and other analysts have said about Myers and other centers. "I had him rated behind other prospects at the position that were available at No. 62, such as Creed Humphrey and Quinn Meinerz."

Can someone please remind these analysts that Meinerz has not snapped one single ball at center during a game in his college career? Someone like that is not going to be able to step in and start right away for a team that lost a starting center in free agency.

I really like the draft so far (full disclosure my like/dislike has no correlative r-squared for player outcome so don't blame me if they fizzle out). I really like Stokes after reading more about him. Obviously he has the super-high RAS (a Packer requirement) and he appears to be really coachable. I get the Packers fascination with RAS (you can't teach athleticism), but I think it's just as important to them that the player is coachable or responds to coaching so there's a decent chance of converting that athleticism into productive football. I admit I am not as sold on Josh Myers simply as I don't know enough about him and the info out there appears to be focused more on his negatives, but it's also very contradictory. I can't remember the sources, but one had him as needing to develop his body better while another said he had a great physique (pretty close to opposites). So this pick keeps me from an "excellent" grade. Amari Rodgers (AmROD?) is a perfect complement to the current receiving corp. If he can approach Cobb's level and STAY HEALTHY then that's a walk-off grand slam. Even if he's close to Cobb it adds a dimension to the team they have lacked for a few years which makes the top ranked offense even more deadly. Add a healthy Degura (fingers crossed) and That's a significant improvement to the offense from 2020. Eat that Aaron!

On a separate note, I haven't seen it discussed, but I really like what the lions have done this draft. I predict John Dorsey is going to help that team more than any other person over the last 30 years (even Barry Sanders).

I mean talk about due, they have to get it right some decade, right ?

Amari Rodgers dad is Tee Martin.

Is that your opinion or is that fact?

Not sure how someone’s parent can be an opinion, lol.

Maybe we need Jerry Springer to do a daddy reveal?
