Wouldn't have been the worst spot to move up a few spots and get him using the extra picks they have in this draft. Though of course we have no idea if they liked him. LSU/Bama WRs though I'm not sure how you don't like them

So OSU is the packers' farm system for centers....fine by me - and it also allows Jenkins to play tackle and guard as needed until Bahk is back on the left side.

Corner and oline were probably the two biggest roster holes heading into last night and the Packers use their 1st two picks to shore up those areas with guys that weren't reaches at the spots they were picked...nothing wrong with that approach in my book

If it makes anyone feel better, Gute isn't interested in drafting receivers.

They really don't need to reach for one though. you have one of the 2-3 best in the whole league. D and OL definitely greater needs, that's what cost them the game last year. I'm sure they'll take one or two eventually but don't need to reach on one. They've actually done great with taking guys in rounds 2-3 over the years. And I know the Rodgers needs help camp doesn't like to hear it, but Rodgers really can make OK guys be plenty good enough to have a top O.

Zero issues with the pick. His tape at center is legit great.

Can't believe more people didn't have him in their mocks to the Packers. They lost one of the best centers in the league and need to replace him.

Given the picks at guard last year, I think the plan is to move Jenkins to OT until Bakh is back.

So you subscribe to the "Do something, Aaron" offensive philosophy.

Not really. But you've gotten all pro or near type guys in the 2nd-3rd rd several times now and you currently have the top 2-3 guy in the league so I don't see the massive demand right now. But most importantly, you had the #1 offense in the league last year and have generally been top 5ish for all of Rodgers career (when he's not hurt). Meanwhile, the D has been awful or mediocre at best a few times over the last 10 years and has been the cause of losing pretty much every playoff game. So yea, Rodgers/Adams/Jones is a heck of a core to your skills on O that you don't need to reach for it. I'm sure they'll take a guy in the next round or two and I hope he turns out to be the next Adams, I won't be mad that he was taken in the 3rd instead of the 1st. Speed speed speed as the goal with the later picks and hope to coach them up. Chiefs guys were had later too.

ETA: and definitely liked last years O over the last few years of MM where it was as you say, "do something aaron" with no play design so it was like improvising out there. Non first round picks were running wide open often last year.

Two picks, two probable starters at key positions. Can't get too upset about that. Stokes and Myers will be first teamers from day #1 of camp. I am typically not a huge fan of drafting for immediate need, but the Packers have taken two very good players here who should provide impact both short and long-term. If they are going for more need, DT or ILB would make sense in the 3rd round.

Anyone in the know have a comparison of Myers to Humphrey and why the "experts" are wrong that Humphrey is a better prospect?

Myers is bigger/stronger and has more position flexibility. Humphrey probably wouldn't hold up as well at guard.
