RIP Original Brewer Lew Krausse

JimH5

Krausse died yesterday of cancer at age 77.

He was the Brewers Opening Day starter in 1970, and pitched for two seasons in their rotation. He was part of the big 10-player Frank Lane trade between the Brewers and Red Sox that moved Tommy Harper and returned George Scott. Billy Conigliaro was also part of that deal and he also died in recent days.

I don't have any memories of Krausse, though he was pretty effective in 1971 (117 ERA+).
