RHP Josh Sborz (DFA'd by Dodgers)

This was the 40 man roster casualty from the Bauer signing. Looked him up and seems like there is plenty of upside. 2015 2nd rd pick. College World Series MVP at Virginia. Started career as reliever, turned starter for 2016 and was California league pitcher of the year (8-4, 2.66 era, 108 k's).

Couple of bumps along the way since then and has had some appearances in the bigs the past few years. 27 years old. Fastball/Slider out of the pen and his fastball apparently can hit 95.

I'm assuming he gets grabbed by someone before us, but I'm all for it if not.

I think the Pirates will pick him up. It makes sense for them to do so a somewhat young pitcher and they have a rotation spot to give him also.

Should have clarified that he was switched back to the pen a few years ago and has worked there since. I would only be interested in him as a bullpen arm I think, not as a starter.
