Line Up

Recommended Posts

If we have to hit Garcia at clean-up, that doesn't lengthen anything...

That line-up just doesn't look good on paper imo. Anytime you have to hit your 3B (typically an offenive position) 8 or 9, something wasn't done to make your team better.

If we open the season like this, with those players, it could be a long year.

Also, you have a DH in those line-ups, are you aware of something the rest of us are not?

The Wong signing really lengthens the batting order. If Navarez bounces back and Cain is average it is a decent offense.

RHP

Wong 2B

Yelich LF

Huira 1B

Garcia RF

Vogelbach DH

Cain CF

Navarez C

Arcia SS

Urias 3B

LHP

Wong 2B

Yelich LF

Huira 1B

Garcia RF

Cain CF

Navarez DH

Pina C

Robertson 3B

Arcia SS

The lineups look like a 70-72 win team at best.

I guessing there will still be a DH. I am hoping for a .265, 18 HR, 55 RBI from Navarez. I have more concerns about Cain.

I would take that season in a heartbeat. Would put him among the top 7 or 8 catchers and his glove improved last year pretty significantly.

I hope there is NO DH in the NL. Our offense stinks as it stands now.

I agree with this. If we aren't going to spend the $ it takes for a real offensive DH, then having the DH just hurts us in the end.

If we plan to have a guy like Vogelbach or Choo to hit DH for us, we are already starting out behind most other teams.

The game is broken.

Line up is usually a discussion in the Major League thread. Probably on page 2 or 3.

About that lineup Counsell wouldnt play Wong and Yelich 1_2. 2 of what likely is 3 everyday Lefty Battingstarters. I'm fairly certain the lineup will look like Wong, Cain, and Yelich. 123. After that I don't know. Play the numbers on which Righty matches best to that game's opposing Starter. Hiura one would think, but he's gotta show better PAs. 33% k rate seems more fitting for a 5. Higher BA is needed. (This is why Turner has to be signed!) Garcia will get his chances at 4 because of this. Narvaez should fit the l/r lineup at 5 but last year all offense lineup thoughts heading to 2021 just suck. So much bad.

The FA top signings of Cain and Wong make it easy to get 1-2 on batting order. Yeli at 3. I can imagine days Wong isnt playing, Cain being 1 Yeli 2. Cain out, not sure who bats 2. Love it if Urias actually earned his prospect rank as a BA/OB to take that designation. Or again that Turner guy.

Since we are fans of the Brewers, I would estimate that the chances of Corbin Burnes blowing out his elbow sliding into any particular bag are at least 60-70% if the DH is gone this season. So I'll jump on any rule that eliminates that possibility.

I'm not sure having our lineup vs LHP start with two Lefty hitters makes much sense.

My guess:

vs RHP

Wong 2B

Cain CF

Yelich LF

Huira 1B

Jake Lamb 3B

Garcia RF

Navarez C

Arcia SS

P

vs LHP

Cain CF

Urias 3B

Yelich LF

Huira 1B

Wong/Robertson 2B

Garcia RF

Pina C

Arcia SS

P

Am I the only one who would rather have Braun back in the lineup over Garcia? That signing last offseason still doesn't make sense to me. Making out a Brewers lineup without Braun somewhere in the middle of it for the first time in 14 seasons kinda sucks, frankly.
