[sarcasm]Stearns doesn’t know what he is doing. Counsell can’t manage. MA is cheap.[/sarcasm]

.... and we just keep rolling up teams that are supposed to be better than us!

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

If the playoffs started today:

National League

(1) Giants vs. Winner of (4) Dodgers/(5) Padres

(2) Brewers vs. (3) Phillies

American League

(1) Red Sox vs. Winner of (4) White Sox/(5) Mariners

(2) Royals vs. (3) A’s

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Remember guys like Feliciano and Maile and what they’re doing for this team. These guys most likely won’t be around in the end when we are division champs but they’re giving us their all right now and contributing. I love that our organization finds so much depth.

This early season success with all of these seemingly interchangeable pieces has sort of reminded me of their past September runs. It seems like a different set of unexpected contributions occur every game.

Counsell deserves a lot of credit.

Best record in the NL. Only percentage points out from best record in all of MLB. Tied for most wins in all of MLB. Only KC has (one) fewer loss. All with so many players hurt that I couldn't tell you for certain which of the bottom 25 or so players of the 40 man are hurt, on the roster, or in the minors/at the alt training site.
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Separate from the team's success, can I give some praise for Luis Urias? He's finally been looking like the real deal as a potential above-average regular at SS. Hitting .333/.438/.641 over his last 15 games.

It's a small hot streak, but stats aside he has just looked good in the field and at the plate.

The good part of the players on the IL is this season teams have to manage the workload of all the players more anyway. With them getting plenty of rest now we can use them more later. That we're playing this well without them is the frosting on the cake.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Despite our winning ways, the Cardinals have kept up and are only one game behind. However, as of yesterday they were 1-2 in games against teams at or over .500; namely the Brewers were the only such team they had played. With the Nats getting up to 11-11, Cardinals now have a 3-6 record against such teams. They've had a super soft schedule, and at some point they'll start playing some actual good teams like the Brewers have. I think their record will reflect that.
