Considering he hit 2 homers last year the bar wasn't set very high to be "just as strong".

I think while strength definitely can help you hit homers, it's not the only factor in play to hit them. Maybe trimming down, becoming a more athletic body, will help his swing this year as well. Oh, and this is the optimism thread...
