If it’s over for 12 in GB, I see it like this...

12>4 by a little

Yet, 4 was more fun to watch.... maybe more than anyone, actually, in any sport.

#4 threw too many INTs when he was forcing it in there. Lots of good times... but lots of painful ones too

The Nagler take is what I believe too but it's based on nothing other than I never got the impression Rodgers didn't like playing in GB.

Rodgers has a massive ego and wants the commitment. He doesn't like that he can't control the situation. It's understandable but he still has a massive ego.

Personally I don't think Favre is even that close to Rodgers. The stats maybe inflated a bit for Rodgers, but not that much, and I'm not one to rely much on championships or title appearances, but just the eye test and body of work make Rodgers the clearly superior player in my eyes.

I'm not reading 10 pages of text on this. I'll just say that after work I thought a trade was actually made the way everything was blowing up. Then I read the articles all about speculation and rumors...

All I have to say is NFL draft drama. Next week it will be all the discussion on how they made up. Two weeks after that, he'll have an interview about how everything is wonderful...

With Denver making their pick there, I think thoughts of a Rodgers deal tonight are officially dead. Love.... maybe?

Patriots a wild card?

For Love? Yep. For Rodgers? Meh. Not a BB-type deal, and I don't know if I'd be comfortable accepting their mid-late picks each round/year.

I refuse to believe the Packers front office is stupid enough to somehow tick off a legend QB, have him win a MVP, tick him off more, and then he never plays for them again.

I don’t care who the QB is...you can’t be dumb enough to let that happen. If it does Love either wins them a Super Bowl or Gute and Co. go down as the biggest idiots in Green Bay history.

I don't think Rodgers plays well in Favre's era nor vice-versa. Both were what we needed when we needed them.

Raiders have been mentioned. Nothing stopping Surtain from being part of the deal, right?

Completely accurate.

It’s not Belichick’s MO, but maybe watching Tom win a championship in his first year out of NE has his competitive fire up. I’m still thinking not.

I read some article about the best matches for a Rodgers trade and they had the 49ers the top match... I laughed and laughed...

It would be a great fit if Rodgers didn't have a massive chip on his shoulder from being passed over by them.

Favre has nothing on Jordan. Not even close to MJ in his prime at all. Gretzky was also fun to watch.

By far it is MJ, Gretzky, Bonds, and then maybe Barry Sanders. Barry is probably the only must see NFL player everyone else not so memorable.

If Love is the real deal (HUGE if), Surtain plus two future #1s wouldn’t suck. Still, I hope cooler heads prevail this weekend.

Agreed... his ego is like Favre’s at his end.

If the Packers rid themselves of Love and offered him more money and a bigger/longer contract, that would have to be tough for him to turn down. However, now it looks over. Jerk way to treat an organization, though.

Rob Demovsky in a web interview right now "I find it hard to see Rodgers playing for the Packers again."

Who does Demovsky work for again? Oh yeah, the same network that likely ginned this story up on draft day based largely off conjecture - if he's that certain he'll never play for the Packers again how come he's spent the past 3+ months NOT writing about it after their NFC championship game loss....the only thing that has changed since then is the Packers' front office doing all sorts of salary cap gymnastics trying to hold the team together to make another run with Rodgers at the helm.

Maybe Rodgers just isn't as invested in football at this stage in his career mentally and he realizes that - getting through this last pandemic-riddled season only to end in another bitter disappointment in missing a super bowl, getting engaged, perhaps realizing the finality that comes with a football career ending while also seeing future horizons for pursuits off the field...couple that with his injury and concussion history, it wouldn't surprise me if he's pushing to go out on his terms. To me he always came off as a guy who might want to hang 'em up earlier than most thought he needed to - and that's no slight on Rodgers.

There's definitely smoke to Rodgers potentially not wanting to play in Green Bay again...but I don't really feel like it's solely because he wants to keep playing but is desperate to do so elsewhere. I think he's got second thoughts about continuing to play period, but he wants to hang 'em up on his terms and not repeat how his predecessor's tenure wound up in GB with the front office making the call on when they were moving on - I think he's pushing for an extension that ends his career in Green Bay 4-5 seasons from now or he's retiring. We went through this sort of saga for 2-3 years as Favre approached the end of his career - Rodgers lived through that and in a way it doesn't surprise me if he wants to jump the gun and move forward to something new to avoid his legacy resembling Favre's in the "will he/won't he" retire fiasco.

What does this even mean? Their eras are barely separated and they played against each other for 3 years. Rodgers is one of the most accurate passers of all time. He would have done just fine in "Favre's era" and vice versa. They both had other worldly skills and rocket arms. People always mention the eras in regards to the stats as if Favre played in the 1960s. It's such an overstated thing.
