James Harden to the Nets.

 

They’ll be a tough out if Kyrie Irving decides he wants to play basketball again. His situation reminds me of the Larry Sanders fiasco.

Harden traded to the nets for 4 1st and 4 swaps and some spare parts. I can't see Kyrie, Harden, and KD working together on the same team.

The most-talented trio of players in NBA history, with all three pretty well guaranteed to hate each other by the end of the season. I have a hard time figuring how this doesn't end up blowing up spectacularly. Kyrie will hate the world as always when he's only the third-best player on the team. Harden will blame the bench players for every loss or maybe the cheerleaders for not cheering well enough. Harden and Kyrie will fight over who gets to take every single shot--I'm sure their shot selection will be pretty entertaining to watch.

 

But I do feel kinda bad for Durant. Leaves the Warriors because he's told "You only won because of Curry" and now maybe he'll start hearing the same thing again. Dude is so unbelievably good yet somehow he's been turned into something of an also-ran his whole career.

It really is going to be fascinating. Is there ANY chance that Harden can become the guy he was in his early years in OKC where he was lauded for being a particularly UN-selfish player? He did play with Westbrook and KD before.

 

I don't think there is any question the Nets were better off with all their picks and Lavert over the next 5 or so years, but this is the route they've chosen.

I don't even know where to start with this. I'm so so so so glad the Bucks didn't have the assets to even begin to seriously pursue Harden.

If all 3 play they win the East. If even Durant and Harden play, they are probably the favorites in the East. People said that AD to the Lakers wouldn't work because he wasn't a high effort guy all the time... it worked. Talent wins out in the NBA, and that team now has the most talent and it's not even close. I don't care if they don't defend well, nobody defends in the NBA.
