Are players released to make room for all of these promotions?

If so, when might we know which players?

Nah. Biloxi has been understaffed all year. They can have a 28 man roster and they are now finally at the max. The A+/A levels can have 30 man rosters and neither team is near the max. Rattlers only have 26 men on the roster so look for more promotions to happen yet.

Tyler Black and Tristan Peters are in Arizona but need to wait for a work visa before they can play in a game. Both are from Canada. Explains why Black has not been assigned yet. I'm glad its not some injury issue preventing him from playing. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/hunter-strickland-reinstated-for-opener-vs-cubs

TWEET: "The Brewers have signed RHP Connor Sadzeck to a minor league contract. The former Ranger was released by the White Sox organization on August 3 after posting a 5.86 ERA in 23 appearances in Triple-A Charlotte."

Stearns is nugget mining again. Sadzeck has had spotty minor league numbers to date so I dug into his background further. The 6-4, 240 lb RHP reportedly throws 98-102, just can't control it and has had injury issues. Missed all of 2019 then did not play in 2020 as well. May turn out to be nothing or the next Topa.

1B/OF Ernesto Martinez placed on Carolina's 7-day injured list.

RHP Miguel Guerrero placed on Carolina's 7-day injured list.

Hope it isn't serious for Martinez. I really think he broke out this year. An Eric Thames bat, plus speed/stolen base potential, and the ability play all three OF positions.

Based on his inclusion in today’s Mudcats Game Notes, it appears we’ve signed RHP Robbie Baker and assigned him to Low-A Carolina. Born in January 1995, undrafted, he pitched the 2018 and 2019 seasons in the Red Sox system.

When Thames was 22 he posted a 313/386/487 line with an 18.2 K% at high A, Martinez is at 271/373/507 with a 27.5 K% in low A. Thames might be an optimistic comparison considering Ernesto is striking out over 9% more frequently at the same age while also playing at a lower level.

Martinez has 1,396 innings at 1B in his minor league career compared to 26 innings in the OF. Ernesto can probably play all three OF positions about as well as Braun played 3B.

26-year-old toiling in independent ball since 2017. Love to see the Brewers identify these young men, and provide them their affiliated chance.

Nice find! That's been bothering me since the first ACL game.
