Adding to the small army of recent non-descript (because so little info is provided) international signings are:

6'0", 180 lb. RHP Carlos Rodriguez

and

5'10" 18-year-old (hey, we got an age, if not a birthday) 5'10", 175 lb. RH-hitting catcher Darlin Lora

I've only been including the links to their player pages for the if/when more details are provided.

So now we will have three Carlos Rodriguez; 2 pitchers and an outfielder. That will be fun to keep track of. Not sure how we will distinguish between two RHP with the same name.

Unfortunately, we will only have two Carlos Rodriguez to follow as the one listed above is the same individual drafted and signed by the Brewers earlier this week.

We’ve released 20-year old OF/1B Juan Frias, who had 7 plate appearances with the ACL Gold squad this year after playing 2018 and 2019 in the DSL. He’d actually hit well in 2019 with an excellent BB/K ratio, but perhaps the power and speed are lacking or he’s ready to pursue something else. Best of luck to Juan.

RHP Abner Uribe placed on 7-day injured list at Low-A Carolina.

And RHP Peyton Long also placed on Carolina’s 7-day injured list.

Also, AAA Sounds placed OF Derek Fisher on the 7-day injured list.

Per MILB roster pages, IF Tyler Friis has been released from AA Biloxi.

The Indians had released him just before MILB games started this year and the Brewers signed him to Biloxi on April 30. He was a regular (29 starts at 2B, 1 at SS) with 119 PAs before an injury sidelined him on June 26th.

Good luck to Tyler.

We’ve traded AAA OF Cooper Hummel and DSL IF Alberto Ciprian to the Arizona Diamondbacks for IF Eduardo Escobar.

Both minor leaguers were hitting well this year (Hummel .942 OPS in 168 PAs; Ciprian .979 OPS in 43 PAs).

Hummel was drafted by the Brewers in 2016, while Ciprian was signed in 2019 and saw his first action this year.

I find it interesting that we showcased Orlando Arcia at 3B right before his trade and have similarly showcased Cooper Hummel at 1B over the past week just before trading him.

A little surprised these college picks did not go straight to low A. I'm they will move fast if they do well. Also odd not to see Tyler Black get an assignment.

I believe I heard on the broadcast or somewhere that, since they hadn't played in a while, they were sending them to Arizona just to get their feet back underneath them before they were sent out to full-season affiliates, so you'll probably see some or all of them in A ball by the end of the month.

And on and on it goes, three more --

RHP Dencer Geraldo

LHP Anfernny Reyes

RHP Jairo Castillo, age 17

For now, the links only provide height and weight.

Looks like Castillo has ben assigned to the DSL Brewers #1 Squad.
