David and Jake Mastroianni break down each tier of the top 50 list of prospects for the Brewers and which players we think are primed to breakout in 2021."

Posted November 30th:

Via the "Mound Talk Podcast": Latest Brewers minor league signing Nathan Patterson - "widely known for throwing 96 mph on the concourse at a Colorado Rockies game, Patterson talks about giving up on baseball, the process of training while working at a regular job, becoming part of a viral video, his brief stint in the Athletics' organization, and much more"

It's a good listen.

Brewers announce the signing of RP Nathan Patterson

Of course, Patterson is known as the fan who was "discovered" after throwing 90+ mph at a pitching machine booth at a Nashville Sounds game a few years back. Rob Friedman (of Pitching Ninja) touted him, and he eventually got a minor league deal with the A's The A's released him in November.

Interesting signing.

Thanks Mass! Loved interview! I remember when he blew up on Twitter and was signed. Is it just me or does his fastball have great life and movement? It looked like on almost all it had real nice late tail back to the right. Who knows what happens with him but great story and a guy to cheer for.

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

Just FYI - Effectively Wild podcast (Fangraphs) episode 1656 dropped today.

They are doing their season preview series (2 clubs per podcast) & this one covers the Rays & the Brewers..

(I am unable to get the link from the pod from my phone onto this message so I will let someone more technically adept do that part)..

Via "The Minor League Take" Podcast: An extended chat (inteview begins at the 6:00 minute mark) with RHP Noah Zavolas, Harvard product, Brewers December 2018 trade acquisition, and the 2019 Carolina League Pitcher of the Year

NOTE: It's a full 70 minutes, enjoy the full interview, Noah, a Massachusetts native, pitched at Wareham in the Cape League, a quick 25 miles down the road from me. He shares a bunch of nice stories from that part of his baseball journey, and prior to that his high school and Harvard days. If you don't have the time for the full take, skip to the 48:50 mark when his pro career begins - drafted by Seattle (almost by Milwaukee), traded to Milwaukee, his year in Carolina, his Covid year in Arizona.

Friday 3/5:

Via the 3rd & Central Louisville Baseball Podcast: LHP Nick Bennett (go to the 38:15 minute mark)

FYI - Nick tells the story of a big brawl in Ogden in 2019 while with the Vibes. It didn't ring a bell, so I checked all our Link Reports and box scores for the two July series in Ogden, and simply don't see a record of any game with multiple ejections or anything like that. If someone can refresh our memory, please do. Plenty of HBP's in the boxes, but nothing else noted.

(I'm sure it happened, but reports on the Pioneer League road game were likely sparse.)

Nice interview with Nick, he's ready to roll, that's for sure.

EDIT: Nick got back to me, thanks Nick!

"No ejections from that brawl! Eventually both teams got it under control and we got back to playing baseball."
