Why Pablo Reyes … surely there is someone else on the Nashville roster … I seldom dislike a Brewers player - but goodness … I’ve seen enough of Reyes

I think their logic in a lot of things is that good defense is more consistent and gives a player a higher floor than good offense, especially with players that aren't going to get regular at bats. You could bring up one of those bat first corner infield types and maybe they hit and maybe they won't, but with Reyes you know absolutely he's going to do a good job at one half of the game. This is why JBJ's struggles don't bother me too much, because you just know if he wasn't here they would have a light hitting defensive specialist on the roster and getting a start a week or so just because that's the kind of baseball counsell and stearns play.

when you give away outs on the offensive side, it doesn't drain your pitching staff and only hurts you for today's potential win. give away outs on the defensive side, and it drains your pitching staff, and takes away from tomorrow's potential win as well.

 

i'm fine with pablo reyes while willy adames and eduardo escobar are ailing.
