NFL Playoffs Wild Card Weekend

Manti Teo is still in the league?

I had to look him up on Wikipedia yesterday because I hadn’t heard his name in 5 years. He seems like a decent guy, save for that wild deceased girlfriend hoax. It may not have been entirely his fault. If I recall correctly, he had been ‘catfished’ into believing he was in an online relationship with a girl from Stanford and then felt like he had to keep the faux relationship going to avoid embarrassment.

Is there anything more stupid in sports than stomping on the opposing team's logo on the field? Caught the end of the Titans/Ravens game and saw the Ravens do it and then sprint off the field before the clock even expired to avoid shaking hands after the game. I guess whatever you need to do to get yourself up for a game.

Titans have a routine of stomping on logos.

Yep, it's the NFL. Often stupid is as stupid does.

Do you think that Kareem Hunt might be a little motivated going back into Arrowhead???

Yeah, he might be. But he really shouldn't be. It's not like the Chiefs let him go because they didn't think he could play.

I also hadn't realized how effective Hunt had been this year until I just looked. The Browns nearly had two 1,000 yard runners.

The Chiefs just feel like the 2011 Packers, but I think it'll be the Bills or Ravens who knock them off(I'm hoping Bills as I think the Ravens are a tougher matchup for us in a potential SB).

Yup. It's incredibly difficult to go back to back. I think you're right that either Buffalo or Baltimore will knock them off.

Titans said they meet as a team at midfield before every game, even on the road. I don't know, either way it's stupid. When I was watching the Ravens do their thing on the Titans logo I was waiting for some Titans players to come running on the field and a big brawl but that thankfully didn't happen. I like when players show their emotion and excitement but all this shoving it opponents faces and talking about "respect" is just stupid.

In case any further evidence was needed, Tonyan > Hooper. Glad we didn't back the Brinks truck up for that guy in the offseason.

I didn't see much of the game. Can you detail why Hooper looks bad?

He dropped an easy TD on an out route that was thrown beautifully to the end zone. It could have been quite significant, too, since the Steelers were threatening to claw back into it by that point. All I was thinking when I watched it is how hard it is to imagine Tonyan dropping a ball like that.

Ahh...I did see that. The one near the end of the game that was NEARLY picked off.

That play sums up why I think the Browns are a year away from competing. You're up two scores, the chance to make it three and put them away, and you throw an out from the far hash in the red zone that does not fool the safety Edmunds at all. They're lucky it was him and not Fitzpatrick or that likely would have been a pick 6.

But we're obviously in a better position paying Tonyan what we are as opposed to paying Hooper I think it was about 4/40.
