If I get called sir one more time I might explode on my coworker. Every time he messages me Hi sir, hey sir, sir can you help, sir are you there, sir that is good to hear. OMG stop using sir we are not in the military.

My coworkers in India also do this and no matter how many times I tell them to stop they just keep on doing it. Is this some cultural thing? It feels more disrespectful to call someone sir or mam instead of their name.

Not bugging me: The snow is disappearing way sooner than usual.

What is bugging me: I bought a house in December, the previous owner had three larger dogs, and I don't think she was one to clean up after them. Now that the snow is melting I am being reminded of that. I tried to take care of it the best I could before it got covered in snow, but when the fenced in area they roamed was over a half acre you can only do so good. The wife was pretty ticked the day we moved in, probably because we don't own a dog, but I figured I could have been left with worse surprises day of closing.

There are probably 2x the number of dogs in our neighborhood since the pandemic started. When the snow melted, there were at least 20 poodle bombs on the sidewalk from our door to the corner (roughly 200 feet). I am not exaggerating - there was one every two feet.

I too feel that there is a huge increase in the amount of dogs in my neighborhood as well. Annoyingly, though we have two dogs ourselves, we A)usually pick up poo right away, or B)keep it confined to one relatively small area of our yard, and in winter our dogs are happy to oblige. Extremely frustrating to see poo in our yard, near the sidewalk, and not from our dogs for the reasons above. I really think some people think that when a home has dogs in it, they're free to just leave their own dog's poo in that yard for some reason.

Oh man, I had one of those experiences a few years back when we moved in to a house in the country during winter. We have two dogs, and I would make sure to do my best to pick up after them. Previous people left multiple target bags of their dog's leftovers for us to pick up. Super fun.

I think there are so many more dogs in our neighborhood too. Lots of COVID puppies. We live in a city setting, with small yards, and I find people are very good about picking up after their dogs. I think I only found one or two so far, that I don't think were from our dogs. I'm happy with that. I don't mind picking up after my dog, but for some reason, picking up someone else's dog grosses me out. You'd think it would all be the same.

I’m not sure why this bugs me, but it does: People who use their given first and middle names as a pseudonym when their middle name is clearly a ‘backup’ first name. Random example:

Legal Name: Christina Marie Jones

Pseudonym: Christina Marie

We know your last name is not Marie! But that’s my issue to sort out and not anyone else’s.

While I don't recall being called sir very often when working with people in India, Americans are very much on the informal side of communications compared to the rest of the world. China is on the other extreme and India is somewhere closer to China. Hierarchy is important in those cultures and "acting American" (i.e. using first names) tends to be very disrespectful depending on age, position in the company, customer/supplier relationships.

In Korea, people would often ask my age so they new if they were older or younger than me, so they knew how to address me (I was typically older). I generally just told them that I preferred if they acted like we were the same age, so they would feel comfortable using my first name.

Just tell the person that you prefer to be called Nate or "Mr Nate" if that makes them feel better.

The inside of the house wasn't much better. She left behind a lot of weird junk because she was moving across country. Some huge cat water dish, a bunch of lamps, a bunch of 90% empty cleaning supplies, old radio in garage, broom, kids fishing pole...I mean it was almost a game going to each new room and guessing what was left behind.

She is lucky I hadn't lived in a house before as she left somewhat useful stuff behind too (wheelbarrow, shovel, rakes, left all the curtains) so I just took the good with the bad. I can imagine someone who already had all that stuff would have told her to go back and clean it all out before they would sign.

Leaves all this stuff, but had in the contract she was taking all her $20 wall TV mounts with her. I may never understand.

No offense to dog owners (or cat owners for that matter) but when we purchased our home in 2002, one of the stipulations with our realator was that we did not want to buy a house that had previously had pets living in it.

The houses we were looking at, were all specs, or one owner homes, all built within the last 2 years or less.

We have no animals. I don't want to live in a home that had animals for several reasons. Main reason, animals are gross, especially if they weren't/ aren't your animals. The hair, the urine, the crap, the slobber, all of it grosses me out and I want nothing to do with it in my personal living space.

Sure, it can all be cleaned, but it is not 100% clean no matter what anyone tries to tell me.

Just don't think about what the humans did in your home. ;)

I don't mind the people from India doing it as I think they are just copying the person who does it. Just thought it may have been a culture thing for them. The other person is just getting on my nerves as I have told him a few times to not call me that just annoying.

I am still angry the last season of HIMYM was completely wiped out in the first 15 minutes of the last episode.m I hold a grudge.

The problem is that they painted themselves in a corner when they pre-planned and pre-shot the finale and had to connect where they were and where they needed to be.

You will almost exclusively see that among females, and the reason is because they think it will make it harder for people to find and stalk them online. Whether or not it really does, I don't know, but that is the stated reason.

I thought they'd shot three different endings to HIMYM so that nobody involved could spoil the ending because they didn't know which would be chosen. I also recall reading that the writers just didn't want to write the cookie-cutter ending that folks were expecting because it would have been less fun to write and they wanted to be more creative and different.

I was less upset with the Ted ending as I was the Barney ending. We spent years watching him very slowly grow out of the womanizing/objectifying character and rooting for that (or at least I did) and then they had him completely reverting back to his old self in a flash. Like if Clockwork Orange suddenly added a 22nd chapter where he suddenly turns bad again.

That makes sense. I assumed it was done out of vanity or for personal branding purposes (for example, dropping a funny-sounding Easterm European surname*)

I didn't realize Nodakfan17owski was that popular.

Ha! Fortunately, Mrs. Nodakfan’s maiden name is equally ridiculous, so she had few reservations about taking my last name. We purposely gave our son a middle name (‘Taylor’) that could function as a last name in case he ever wanted to adopt a DBA name.

We are a proud people, but not that proud. :)

When you got married you didn't hyphenate last names? ;) I had a substitute teacher in grade school (last millennia) who was Mr. Kookenen-Flashberger. I never understood why they didn't just pick "Smith" or something...

We joked about adopting a family name that was more prestigious (like Bush, Clinton, or Hershey), but never considered hyphenating or dropping our last names all-together.

My girlfriend's former friend had a last name that was goofy sounding. She changed it to Wynn thinking that would help her with her law firm. Apparently One Call, That's All was already taken.
