Bucks 2020-2021 season thread

My hats off to this team. I had zero, I mean zero faith that we were actually going to pull off a Game 7 on the road.

They earned it in an instant classic. Imagine a boxing match in which both fighters have nothing left in the last round and exchange exhausted punches until someone goes down. That was tonight.

Not just that but it looked like they had about 5 different Wisconsin moments to lose it. I cannot believe they did it.

We're not used to this. We're not conditioned to know how to feel in moments like this.

We still could very well lose the ECF and I'm not going to be surprised if we do but tonight felt like a Finals game.

I can still watch the Brewers vs. Dbacks series finale and get goosebumps listening the Ueck's call of the Nyjer Morgan basehit to bring in Gomez to win the series. That is like my World Series.

that's only the 30th time in 433 series that a team has come back from 0-2 to win a 7 game series

Yep. It doesn't happen much. I remember quoting that stat when we were discussing the importance of not going down 0-2.

Yeah I'm right there with you. I think the Bucks are a heavy favorite over Atlanta and less of one over Philly but still a favorite. Either West team is absolutely capable of beating the Bucks, but man oh man was tonight fun.

It’s funny you bring up that game because it’s probably the closest WI sports parallel to tonight...blown late lead, game nearly lost, and then pulling it out in extras.

But...I can’t think of any true parallel to tonight, an elimination game against all odds that they pulled out. At least not from the professional teams. Maybe a couple of Wisconsin NCAA games would count, the first Arizona elite 8 game or the win over Kentucky the following year.

I’m cautiously optimistic about their chances. Unlike recent years, the Warriors aren’t coming out of the West, nor do they have to contend with LeBron and his super friends. Kawhi Leonard scares me a little because of his past playoff success.

I feel better about their chances against the Hawks/6ers than I did against the Nets, I am just not going to try to predict what might happen. Embiid might go off. Trae Young might go off. Budenholzer could go into Idiot Mode for a couple games. Pound for pound and talent wise we should probably win but I thought that against Toronto a couple years ago.

I think I am just forcing myself to stay guarded to not be too let down if it doesn't happen because this is the first moment since the playoffs began that I've actually started to believe deep down that they're going to the Finals.

Kawai might have a torn ACL.

Am I in a fantasy world right now?? The reason Nets lost is because they played the WORST player on the team about 90% of the minutes. On defense he just stood around. On offence he just bounced the ball slowly up the court and when he shot the ball he had no legs, missing a ton.

But not one of the experts had a problem with it. Kenny Smith said they needed him to facilitate so the team and Durant could operate in their normal flow...WHAT A CROCK!!! The dude has a blown hamstring! The worst player on the bench would have been twice as good as Harden.

I don't know diddly about the Bucks but to just barely win that series playing 5 on 4 would be worrying to me if I was a fan.

I think the Bucks can squeak by the 76ers because The Freak can nuetralize Imbid, but the Hawks/Suns? good luck boys :ohwell

I think you're slightly exaggerating how ineffective Harden was. He was immobile in Game 5, but he was still chipping in nicely on offense since coming back. He was an assist and rebound away from a triple double last night...

The Nets have zero depth. He was their 2nd best player on the floor last night. That team isn't built around 1 star with a decent bench. It's built on 3 superstars and nothing else. If we want to pick a Net that really blew it for them, it's Joe Harris without a doubt.

Man the bars/restaurants downtown really needed this.

Yeah, with all due respect to Landry Shamet and Mike James..... James Harden on one leg still does things they can't do. I mean......defense isn't one of them, but he can flop around, pretend to draw contact, and miss a crap load of three pointers. Also, he at least presents the illusion of a threat. No one is going to even pretend that Landry Shamet and Mike James and honestly, anyone other than Durant or Irving on that team are anyone you have to game plan around.

The Nets have three superstars, but the problem with building a team like they did was put on stark display in this series. When you have injury(s), your lack of depth eventually runs out. Their bench sucks. I honestly don't know why they didn't at least TRY to put Deandre Jordan out there to try to slow down Giannis inside a little bit. Maybe he's hurt, or something, maybe Nash just doesn't like him, but Jeff Green and Blake Griffin sure weren't doing it.

Young gives his game jersey to his father. Great gesture, but pretty sure he gets fined/charged a lot for that. Jerseys don't belong to him or the Hawks. There's a guy in the locker room who gets paid to collect them.

Simply put, there's no way the Bucks should lose this series. Sixers had no business losing either, other than being the softest team in the Association in every way imaginable.

I'm pretty confident that Durant and the Nets would have disposed of the Hawks easily, even with the injuries.
