Bucks 2020-2021 season thread

adambr2
Was game 3 the Bucks version of the Raptors game 3?

I thought of that same comparison, but it was surely a much uglier version if it was a version of it.

Anyway, I didn't think we'd ever tie this back up again, so it's nice to at least nice to have a series again no matter what happens now.

Ugly or pretty I don't really care as long as it springs them to a championship.

I'm going to say Game 5 is the biggest game of Giannis's career to this point. He needs to carry the Bucks past a battered, very good team. If that means dropping 50, now is the time, preferably with only a couple 3-point attempts. It's going to be tough to explain not getting that done without Harden and Kyrie. Even if one manages to play, there's no way they will be going at full speed. I can't imagine Irving being able to go.

I think Jrue will have a very solid game 5. He wont be expending as much energy on Kyrie on the defensive end and they dont have a guard who can matchup with him well. Middleton has also been playing great. Giannis has had 30 in 3 of the 4 games. If he does that again i feel great about our chances

I have to agree. The stars are aligned. If we can't break through this year, hard to see us doing it during the Giannis era. We squandered a 2-0 lead and several massive leads in the 2019 conference finals. We should have won the Title in 2019.

If we get by the Nets, I think the Bucks are the most talented team in the Final 4. NBA Finals versus Suns or Jazz would be fun. I just hope the Clippers don't make it. I'm sick of NY and LA teams buying championships in various sports.

I agree. The third quarter of game 4 was a good omen. They smelled blood and went for it. Any title-contending NBA team would be expected to do the same, but it was still nice to see. Momentum is huge in the NBA. I mostly worry about the referees in a road game, they seemed treat Durant differently in Brooklyn vs. Milwaukee.

I'm not going to blame game one and two on the refs but the bucks couldn't even breathe on Durant. The bucks won't be able to win if they can't play defense. That being said, Tucker played amazing defense on Durant the last two games. He still got his points, but he really really had to work for them.

As others have said, if the Nets are just durant and a bunch of guys, the bucks have to play their game and win this series.

We'll finish the Nets off then lose in about 5 games to Atlanta. That seems about right.

That could easily happen. The Bucks offense in the playoffs the past 3 seasons has been atrocious for long stretches. They can get stomped by any of the teams left if they play like that.

This is the moment for Giannis. He's not the new kid on the block any more. Whether he scores 50 or has a 20/15/18 game, it's time to get it done.

Atlanta is not a bad team. I would actually rather play Philadelphia over Atlanta.

Match-up wise Philadelphia is better for the Bucks than Atlanta is. Young is someone who will give the Bucks fits and then and in their role players like Bogdanovic and it gets tougher especially without Donte.

If the Bucks get past Brooklyn they'll stomp whatever team comes out of the other side. I get the pessimism but the Bucks are a very good team. The West is a different story, but the Sixers are on fumes and the Hawks are not good enough.

I am more worried about Durant + a random pumpkin scoring 25 points than the Sixers.

Now Harden's expected to play. That evolved quickly, but not surprising.

I think they know that this game is do or die with game 6 going back to Milwaukee so whatever level of being careful with Harden they were working under went out the window with Irving going down. They pretty much have to try to play Harden because there's nothing to lose if they don't feel they can win without him.

With a healthy Kyrie and Durant (even with Harden out), Milwaukee was best suited to slow the game pace down and try to grind out wins against the Nets. With Kyrie out leaving Durant and a gimpy Harden, I think the Bucks need to get into a track meet type of game to test how much Harden can go - I can see him making it through a game and having an impact offensively playing iso ball in a low possession game, but if he's having to run up and down the court there's no way Harden's good for heavy minutes in Game 5.

Durant may go off for 40 in high possession game, but the Bucks are better suited for that type of pace with Kyrie out and should be able to outscore Brooklyn right now.

Anyone ever injured their hamstring? There is no way he is ready to go if he couldn't play 50 seconds like 10 days ago. It may feel fine walking around, but a few sprints up and down and not only is it going to hurt, it's going to reset the entire clock. It is one of the most annoying and frustrating minor injuries there is. Fire up the transition as soon as you get the ball in your hands. There is no way he can keep up with that kind of game.

Really depends on how bad it was too... Might've been precautionary in the first game. Plus, the adrenaline of the game might help mask the pain (for short term anyway).

Yeah, it's really all about the degree of the injury. But if he couldn't play two days ago, he's going to have to be cautious. Hammys are easy to aggravate.
