Yeah the Nets have too many weapons. I kind of feel better about it because no amount of coaching or whatever is going to change the result of this series.

No, they're probably not going to win a championship with Giannis. Two years ago was their best shot and they genuinely blew it, but I just don't see how they can do it now with the roster basically set in stone.

I suppose it could happen 4 years from now or something, but a Dirk situation where we maybe get one lucky year is looking like our best scenario. We're most likely headed for perennial 3rd or 4th seed.

Nets in 5, and I would bet it's it least 60/40 that that will be the end of the Mike Budenholzer era.

He is toast, but I don't think it'll amount to anything other than an easy scapegoat. I mean, it should happen, but I don't think Norman Dale would get the Bucks over the hump.

I know the hot takes are going to be out in full force after tonight, but Giannis being traded in a year or two does really seem like an inevitable outcome to me. I know he's been a perfect citizen, but there is just no way he stays happy with the status quo here. Especially now that our hands are pretty much tied to make improvements around him.

Probably, but it was his doing.

That's all excuses. Brooklyn has superstars, they score a lot...cool. So do the Bucks, they put up 120+ all year until they hit this playoff wall every year. 33 points with 3 minutes in the half.

Yeah I mean, when the Bucks are winning, no one questions if they have enough talent or if Khris or Jrue are a good enough supporting cast.

18 months ago the question was if the Bucks would win 70 games, not if they'd be bounced twice in the second round in back to back seasons. Something went horribly wrong ever since last March. But no one really doubted their upside when they had the best record in the NBA.

I just don't see a way out of this purgatory that doesn't involve either Giannis becoming an 80% FT shooter or 2nd player that can drop 30 at will who hits FTs. The former isn't happening so it's probably the latter for Giannis...in another city.

They're stuck pretending Middleton is that player and he's just not.

I've seen PJ Tucker talked up a lot lately for his contributions and I must just not be seeing it because I don't see how his acquisition moved the needle even a little bit for us.

It was clear what the problem was in the middle of last season. I quit watching the Bucks about that time because the outcome is too obvious. They have a defensive philosophy intent on "running out at the 3pt line with their hand in the air". I view the boxscore because I still care, I just can't watch it. Looks to be much of the same tonight.

*Ring, Ring*...

Thank you for calling the Buck's Buy-a-Bucket program. Unfortunately, we are sold out and waiting on our suppliers to deliver more. But for tonight, the Buck's can not buy a bucket.

I know that this is sort of the low-hanging fruit and at this point it's probably time to change gears defensively...but the problem in all of these playoffs duds is always that they just can't score. They go from making it rain all year to being unable to shoot, and the focal point of their offense is a guy that can't shoot FTs trying to muscle his way inside or occasionally dishing it to someone who misses a 3. It's maddening.

They need a second star and they don't have one. Holiday was a good try, I dunno what else they could have done, but to beat this kind of team they need a dependable scorer. Middleton ain't it.

Giannis is what he is. He can't shoot, that's fine, neither could Shaq. But they're trying to get away with him like he's LeBron and he just doesn't have that kind of all-around game.

I guess. Maybe the game has changed. I just like defense. Hoping to out-shoot the other team just doesn't seem like team basketball that wins team championships. If you actually make an effort on defense, you can overcome a subpar shooting effort, you'd think.

I wanted Bradley Beal in the worst way. I thought he maybe was that final piece, that 2 they needed. I would have gone all in to get him over Jrue even if that meant using all those same picks plus DDV plus more. Maybe they tried, I don't know. Jrue is great. He's better than Bledsoe. But he's not the piece that was missing to win a championship.

Sure defense would work but not against Durant. Durant will just out shoot your defense. He is like a taller version of Jordan in his prime he is that good. All of the elite defenses couldn't stop Jordan same with Durant. Your best hope is to contain him and hopefully he only scores around 30 points. Now add in Kyrie and that is just not going to work at all.

You can scream team defense all you want but you are not stopping those two when they are even a little bit off.

Bucks will never win a championship with Giannis...but Giannis is a big reason why. He just isn’t the main guy super star to build around...sorry, but he just isn’t. Great player...but not a championship team leader. They just aren’t going to attract a superstar to pair with him.

He is a 2x MVP. There is no reason he can't be the best player on a championship team. Your 30 and 15 post player is not the reason you can't win a championship. Your primary shooter scoring 12 points in the playoffs however is a huge reason you will not win a championship. Throw Klay Thompson of a couple years ago on the Bucks and they've probably won it by now.

Giannis is essentially an athletic Shaq. Shaq also couldn't win as the lone superstar, and I mean even he had Penny. But when you got into crunch time Kobe or Wade was able to step up. There is no Wade on this team. There is not even a Ray Allen on this team.
