Feelings this morning after looking at the box score

The Bucks scored 72 in the paint. The high team in the league averaged 55 this year. They also missed at least 5 easy buckets right around the hope. Could have had 80 in the paint. They do that again next game they win. If the bucks make 3s and FTs they should have no problem scoring. If they are at season averages from 3 and FTs they put up about 130 last night.

Defense needs to figure things out. Blake likely won't hit 4 3s again. Had more than 2 once all year.

Also the key guys probably can't sit as much. Giannis only had 17 minutes at the half. He should be playing 40 a game easy

Last night reminded me of the Bucks game 1 with Toronto where they crushed with Lopez scoring 30 points. The Bucks can definitely lose to the Nets, but I need more evidence than Griffin draining 3s and us shooting uncharacteristically bad. The paint pounding strategy worked, I am not sure why we got it away from it so poorly

Bucks big 3 played just 20 minutes together. Giannis played 35 minutes, vs 40 for Durant and 45 for Irving. Bud cites "deep bench" as the reason. That is very disturbing.

Problem #2 is Giannis admitted they had jitters. After what happened in the playoffs the past two seasons they had the jitters??!!? It showed. Nets look calm, confident, a bit of swagger. Bucks looked out of sorts on offense. Missing shots is one thing, but they weren't shooting most of their 3s with confidence.

I get it's one game, but I stand by my comment that it's over. The "heart of a champion" thing is tough to explain, but easy to see. Bucks don't believe they're the best and know they'll win. They're trying to win, and that's a huge difference.

I don't think it's over, but if they go down 2-0 to the Harden'less Nets tomorrow, I'll be pretty convinced that it's over. Win tomorrow, take HC back and they're in pretty good shape, otherwise I just don't see them recovering.

They blew a huge opportunity in the first game. Harden goes down a minute into the game and they don't capitalize with a win. You have to find a way to win that game in my opinion.

They still have a chance, notably because Harden will be out again, but they clearly have to win tonight to have a realistic chance to pull of a series win. A split on the road is nothing to sneeze at and then they are off to Milwaukee for a pair of games.

I'm not all that convinced that Harden makes the Bucks chances much worse. And I don't mean that he isn't great or something, but the Bucks have a good size advantage that he doesn't really do anything to mitigate and he doesn't play defense. I just don't see a big difference as opposed to when Kyrie and Durant are on the floor; it is still extremely hard to defend. Durant going down would be a different story. Harden's another guy that can hit shots for sure, but I just don't think their matchup with the Bucks changes all that much without him in the game.

I have a good feeling tonight though. I think they'll shoot better and win somewhat comfortably.

Same old Bucks

Yep

Meh. They are just quite clearly WAY overpowered. This is the modern NBA we're living in. Without superstars colluding to join forces you are not winning a championship. This looks exactly like Cavs-Durant Warriors, and it pretty much is.

They look exactly like any of the other 15 or so Bucks teams I've seen lose in the first or second round. Completely overmatched.

Then the Bucks are not winning a championship in the Giannis era. They went all in on Giannis-Middleton-Jrue. They don't have the money or the trade capital to do much else.

The Nets don't even have Harden going.
