Bucks 2020-2021 season thread

Really hard to prove or disprove "talent levels" for either team. Obviously if you win the NBA championship, your team has a lot of talent. Probably the difference is that Jordan's talent was typically "homegrown" (Rodman being the main exception compared to Pippen and Kukoc being drafted/developed).

LBJ just likes to go somewhere and recruit all-stars from other teams to play with him (Wade was already in Miami, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, AD). Cleveland being the main exception - though he kind of tried with Kevin Love - it just flopped on him.

Different times though, so who knows if MJ would've done the same if he played now...

Pippen was an elite player. He was a First Team All-NBA selection during the two years Jordan was playing baseball and an EIGHT time All Defensive First Team selection from 1992-1999. Jordan was fortunate to have him as a teammate and even more fortunate that his contract was well below market.

I’m willing to give LeBron a pass for his first Cleveland stint and ‘The Decision.’ He was still a young man and, in his defense, who was the second best players on the Cavs roster from 2003-2010? Mo Williams?

But Miami was largely a good situation under Pat Reilly and he bailed as soon as they were capped out and Wade and Bosh were too old to help him chase Jordan.

Do you think he goes back to Cleveland if the Cavs didn’t have 3 of the last 4 #1 overall picks? I mean that’s incredible. What are the odds? One of those picks was Irving and the other two were used to trade for Love.

Do you think he goes to LA is the Lakers didn’t have the 3 consecutive #2 overall picks? They were able to use those assets to clear cap space and trade for Anthony Davis.

The LeBron/Jordan comparisons drive me nuts. Completely different eras and scenarios. If I learned anything from watching the Last Dance it's that the Bulls were not any good until the right group of people were put around Jordan, and then they were so good that when Jordan retired they still made the EC finals anyway. Winning championships with 3 different teams/coaches is a completely different accomplishment from what the Bulls did.

The Lakers losing this year was no big surprise, LeBron knew they were toast and he looked completely exhausted/defeated. Whatever. The bigger crime is the garbage around Damian Lillard in Portland. If you want to know how far one player can get you, that's it. One of the greatest playoff performances of all-time in game 5 and they still lost.

Anyway...the NBA is full of superstars these days and even a "big 3" like the Nets have isn't good enough to cruise to a championship. We're about to witness them lose to the Bucks in six games, and I'll enjoy every second of it.

Not true. Twice they lost in the conference semis.

The only reason the Nets won’t cruise to a championship is because of health. If they were healthy I don’t think they would find much resistance on their way to the ‘ship.

On paper they definitely have the most talent. But even when their stars have been all healthy and in the lineup this year, they haven't looked totally dominant. Sometimes no matter how much talent a team has, they don't mesh great. And the Nets have had so many injuries to their key guys this season, they haven't had many opportunities to play at full power.

The Bucks have a good shot at absolutely torching the Nets in the paint - their interior defense is atrocious. They can score with anyone, but so can the Bucks. Will be fun to watch!

There's only one ball on the court. I don't think the Nets are by any means head and shoulders better than the Bucks unless this series shows otherwise.

Bucks haven't played in nearly a week I was expecting a little something, rust, nerves what-have-you going into tonight. Close game on the road playing from the front isn't the worst I could imagine.

I have a feeling Jrue is going to start making Kyrie look silly in the 2nd half.

Not going to be much of a game left by then if they can't start finding the bottom of the net on some of these.
