On their website the AT&T Live channel list doesn't include the regional fox sports that I can see. It has FS1 and Desportes. Based on where the Big10 Network kicks in, I am guessing you need the second tier which is 84.99?

Yes. That's the tier I was speaking of. The $85 a month Choice.

We actually moved back to cable yesterday for the first time in MANY years (after DISH network and then Youtube TV). It came down to the fact that by bundling with our current internet provider, the cost was very similar to YTTV.

We will see how it goes (although yesterday's game wasn't the best to finally be able to watch on FoxSports Wisconsin).

I just got a flyer in the mail for this today. This is not too bad of an option.

Adambr2: If I may ask, it looks like there is a box/remote that you need to buy with this. $120 to buy or $5/month for 24months. It also says you can have 3 concurrent streams at one time. So I dont understand, Do you need a box for each Tv you want to watch it on? Are there any other hidden fees. Sorry for the questions. Just am very careful after my experience with Spectrum over the years.

No worries at all. I have not bought any boxes. I have a Roku on every TV in my house and I just use those.

Yep. Sinclair is basically saying "If you don't have access to cable, no baseball for you! If it was one streaming service that pulled the plug on the RSNs, it would be easy to blame the service. But when it's literally all of them (besides bloated AT&T and its terrible platform and interface), the blame rests squarely with Sinclair.

I pay about 120 a month for my cable/internet via AT&T and can't complain much about the overall service.

Between Brewers baseball, Bucks basketball, Badgers hockey/football, and the NFL, having cable is a must for me, besides other shows i watch on various networks.

Sorry to bump, but couldn’t figure out a straight answer digging through all the replies.

If I want a streaming service to watch the games, through Roku or my smart TV (not looking to hard-wire all my TVs to cable boxes), in the Milwaukee blackout area, it seems like the options are:

ATT Live TV

Spectrum (apparently they have a streaming service, though may not be on Roku?)

Correct? Am I missing something? Very frustrating and disappointing that the streaming services couldn’t make this work.

Yea such absolute bs a ton of us cant watch our own team this year.

Yup, but actually, it's a choice you are making. I'll see all the games with Spectrum cable, no way I can go without, so I keep forking over the cash.

A summer without Brewers baseball just isn't in the cards.

I'm with you, I choose to pay for cable so I can watch the Brewers & Bucks. I totally understand why people cut cable and I would too if it wasn't for those two teams

Honestly, most streaming services worth a damn aren't really saving you anything anymore anyway.

Few years ago I had the blue+orange package from Sling for 25 bucks a month. ESPN, Brewers, Bucks, I had everything I needed for cheap.

Now not only do the "cord cutting" options not even offer the sports I want, they're not even cheap. I was paying 85 bucks a month for Hulu Live! They've jacked up their rates by $10 each of the last 2 winters with no real justification other than "it's expensive to offer these channels."

Ok, great, then I'll just go back to regular Hulu for 10 bucks a month and watch the shows I like the day after they come out. If it's not live sports or local news channels, what do I need live TV for? To watch reruns of The Big Bang Theory on TBS?

If you already had the Spectrum app before December, you are good. If you didn’t, then you are out of luck. I dropped cable over a year ago and made the mistake of cleaning up my Roku and deleting the app. Now I’m screwed and can’t get it again. You can get the Spectrum app on Samsung TV’s and some other streaming services but not Roku until they come to an agreement.

You can get the Spectrum app through an Apple TV (at least I would assume as they offer them to customers to buy). I’m not sure the minimum gen Apple TV needed, but I am sure you could buy a used one pretty cheap to stream through the app.

It’s dumb their app isn’t on every smart TV made. It may be a small enough price gap IF I could just get the app on every TV I own...but this, nope. The stupid costs for the boxes is part of the problem. Not sure why Spectrum won’t just have a real streaming option themselves...probably because they make a killing off those stupid boxes etc.

I mean, it is a choice. Everything is. But it's not a choice where the consumer has power. It's a monopoly, essentially, an unequal market with shades of price fixing. So, it's not exactly this totally open, two-party, mutually agreeable decision you're suggesting here...

Not if you live somewhere where Spectrum (or any cable service) doesn't offer service.

For me, its AT&T TV ... until they drop the Sinclair stations too. It's just a matter of time.

I hope its a matter of time the other way until they all start picking them back up. How is a 0% share of the streaming market going to be a profitable venture for Sinclair?

That would be the common sense conclusion. But nothing about this situation has seemingly followed logic so far, so I'm losing hope that logic will ever prevail. Sinclair is simply a very poorly-run company, and local sports fans are being forced to suffer the consequences of their ineptitude.

People can also me a hypocrite too because I plan on using my Spectrum email address from high school that still works with my parent's account. I'm surprised I still remembered the password. It's kind of like going on a hunger strike while eating meals when nobody is looking.

Anyway, I'm choosing to stay with YTTV because I think it is a better product in terms of DVRing and overall functionality with our current TV setup. I probably should cancel YTTV if I really wanted to stick it to YTTV for not giving me the Brewers. A cloud DVR with unlimited storage and no additional cable boxes is worth it to me. With Spectrum TV, I was also pretty frustrated when we moved from an apartment to a house and we lost like half of the channels I watched because I was on an "old" plan and they now needed me to have two tiers instead of one. They said if I didn't move then I could have stayed on the plan I had. Makes no sense to me as an existing loyal customer. Their customer service was awful too. I wish YTTV would have a regional sports package similar to AT&T's. This way I wouldn't have to worry about losing this channel. Spectrum also jacked the internet rate up more at the start of this year, so I feel they will just keep jacking this price up as they lose more TV subscribers and money will continue to be less of an issue. They just went low to gain market share.

When I switched to YTTV, Spectrum really tried to lure me back in. I pointed out to the rep that their "bundling" savings between having cable+TV essentially canceled out with the "Broadcast TV Surcharge" fee that they charged. Do people even see this number as it is buried on the bill? I was clueless until I dug into it. They said this would would be even more savings if I also added phone to the plan. I probably could have pushed more for a introductory rate, but I just didn't want to mess with all this, so I said thanks but no thanks. When I called YTTV with a question I had, they were really good about it. I just feel cared about more with YTTV. I don't know if that is the reality.

I'm saving money with YTTV. I pay $68 per month all in. I think that's the middle tier. There are 5 channels I have to have and get them with YTTV. I pay nothing extra for unlimited recording. No rental fees, no boxes, no add on fees. Just $68.

I priced out AT&T Plus to get the channels I must have and the amount of recording I currently have. It would be an extra $232 assuming I switched just as the baseball season started and canceled just as the season ended. This would also come with additional pain of losing all the content I have already recorded on YTTV.

Spectrum? Please. I would rather be murdered and then set on fire while celebrating my birthday than to sign a 2 year contract with those turds.

I will also say I have no other subscription content other than MLB.tv. Thankfully I'm not a fan of popular culture so I don't need to subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Paramount, or the like.

To clear up what you need to watch on Spectrum, I believe it's the Select cable tier. Spectrum Choice and Spectrum Essentials are their "streaming" options but neither allow you to watch the Brewers/Bucks.

With the Select or higher tier you get FSN Wisconsin, soon to be Bally's Wisconsin, and you can watch via the Spectrum app if you don't want a cable box. I would think you would be able to use the Fox Sports Go app (or whatever they're going to call it) if your Roku doesn't have the Spectrum app.

My plan has been to not play the switcheroo game but I've been kicking around the idea of doing AT&T TV for one month to begin the season. The allure of opening day is nearly irresistible, if I do a month that should satisfy the itch that comes with enduring the long baseball off season. I was never really one that tuned in for every single game anyway so I know I'll get by. If they play well enough to be exciting during a playoff run I could revisit at that point. That's the beauty of subscribing and cancelling with the click of a button and not have to endure phone calls with cable's garbage customer service.

Spectrum does not value customer loyalty in any way.

I have threatened to leave for other options in the past, and they basically say, ok, see you later then.

It's frustrating, but it is what it is.

There was a time that I could call, make threats, etc and they would end up bowing to my reasonable demands to keep me as a customer.

Now that they have a lot of competition from the streaming services, dish, satellite, whatever, you would think they would value their loyal customers even more.

That is not the case, they don't care if you leave.
